I googled this a while back and hence discovered this wonderful thread. got a copy back in 5th year (93/94 Ben C, DUB 11 ) but since "mispalced it"

On another note I have a Mick Walsh tape here but have no idea of the name of it. have it since 95..... Can anyone help ID the tape and u/l a good copy of it is possible. some cu&t taped part of a snow partol album over most of B side
I was never good for tune id's just knew what I liked:rolleyes: but some of them are ( i think) : wrong is right, mind and body - wubble u is the last track on B side - another one on the A side went like "yipyipyip yaaa.....yipyipyip yaaa.....its our future"

Newbie here - two days trying to get through this thread, have to say have no idea of mediashare and rapidshares and anything else and feel a tad embarrassed that I cant contribute to this thread in that way but all I know is that familiar feeling, that hair standing on the back of my neck feeling a feeling I thought was gone a feeling brought back by the people and tracks on this thread....I had the absolute pleasure of being part of the crowd dancing her socks off in the Mansion House and than (balconybabe bows her head in reverence) THE OLYMPIC, Sides and The Asylum...no other club any where in the world (that I've travelled) has ever matched the feeling I got up on that balcony in the olympic loved up and doved up (:P). The Olympic was my favourite by far..it had more of a happy loved up feeling, Sides a tad bit shady and than The Asylum, it was an outstanding club if a little intimidating at times maybe this was due to the fact that I was 15 years of age but still the music, the beat in your ears and most importantly the beat in your heart. My fondest memory of The Asylum was doing the "Prodigy Dance" with Leroy after seeing them in the Tivoli...unreal!! Those of us who were there knew the darkside of this club but hey the undercurrent was always good, it was always about the music..It was devastating when these clubs were closed down, this statement is probably extreme to those who never experienced them but thats how I and many a person felt..I chased that "feeling" for many a year now and never found it, not on "The Boat", The Shaft, The System, The Pod, Chocolatebox/redbox, no where has it and I doubt anywhere will ever have it again...what a thread but than again what a club x x x

I concur totally......i can still remember clearly when the ASYLUM closed it was straight into SIDES every week until the same fate befell there then the WATERFRONT then The ORMOND :(.....it was after the close of the ORMOND which wasnt a patch on the ASYLUM but was the best left in the city i was on abbey street looking at a poster for a gig in the temple theatre & a complete feeling of utter dejection at the mind blowing & life changing experience we were immersed in for the last 7 years was actually over with this bullsh1t i was now looking at on a poster all that was left to be offered:mad:...... my outlook on life was at an all time low at that point & for much of 1998 - 1999 we had RAVES up at the hellfire club instead of heading into the commercialised 'CLUBS' in town:pac:....still dont like the poser filled, at the priviledge of some wank3r bouncer whether or not you get in, red bull promotion run, excuse for a RAVE's in town & have to say the only gigs to be gone to are the ones organised by the lads on here that deserve any recognition;)

Excellent first post there. I see your from Crumlin, knew a bloke in the Olympic from Crumlin called Tucker, ring any bells? Was a deciple of the balcony myself. I used to love looking down on to the dance floor watching the lazers scanning the big hall like search lights through the smoke machine. Even met my now wife on the balcony. When the Olympic was in full swing you couldnt hold a penny candle to it. I used to be up on the balcony over the mineral bar.
Met some good people in there and like yourself when all these places closed down it was horrible. Every night club I went to for years would be compared to the old clubs, none came anywhere near. The Ormond and TIN PAN ALLEY was the closest but that was probably because they were going soon after they all closed so the music was still fresh in there. I had no time for the Temple Theatre. I've been to some of the nights in Radio City, thought I'd never hear them tunes again in a club and was made up when all the old classics were belted out, a big up to all the lads who organise these night, you know who you are.
Even now when I hook up with the lads it doesnt take long for a couple of us to start reminising about the old days in The Olympic and The Asylum, and even though it was a long time ago now it really does only feel like yesterday:p

Hey Seanyboy1, no bells ringing on a Tucker . We religiously stood on the balcony on the right hand side to the side of the front of the stage, loved looking down at every one, the lights, and watching the lads picking each other up and spinning them around..now I know there was a term for this but its slipped my mind hahaha...I even got engaged in there..I remember oohing and ahhing at the "will you marry me balcony babe" lazer writing flying around only to turn around to say to one of the girls "look someone is being proposed to" only to fall over himself on one knee, no top on and sweat rolling down his back and me scratching my head saying "WTF ya doing down there, I'm nearly after going flying" hahaha....typical Olympic behaviour x

P.S. A bell rang at 5.30am - I do know a Tucker from Crumlin who frequented the Olympic, fair haired fella??

There is a cassette rip of this floating around and the sound quality is a bit kak, so here's the original master DAT (48k) complete with tracklist and artwork. A Tracklist is also embeded into the MP3 audio file itself so to view the list on the move just turn on 'Lyrics & Captions' in your mediaplayer... (though some players dont have that option).

Nice1 for the shouts lads regarding GRAVITY 16, and thanks to the Mick Walsh fella for handing over the original recordings. ;) .....

GRMA for U/L'ing this and GRAVITY Caff.
