I have done a search on this topic already, and I'm not coming up with anything.

I have entered the correct wep key, but I keep getting error 52000 - Unable to obtain IP address?

I'm using Eircom, and a netopia router. I cannot figure out how to connect this thing whatsoever (DAMN NINTENDO!!!!)

    Help please?

Try setting your firewall to low that might work.

Not worth lowering your internet security for to be honest.

I have the same issue and as far as I know the eircom router is not compatible with the DS so you can't go online with it.
On the other hand I connected my Wii to the internet on the first go today using the same router with no problems whatsoever but that's of no help with your issue.

Again I have used Eircom netopia wireless router fine for all four DS's in the house - there is no compatibility issue.

Have you searched this error online for a solution?

you have to put the ip address and dns settings in manually,
    then it'll work

I had much the same problem with my eircom netopia router. Heres what I did

Type 192.168.1.254 into the address bar of your web browser to get the necessary information.

    On the DS

    Enter you WEP Key

On the Auto obtain IP Address option select no

Enter your IP address but replace the last digits with 12 (so if your IP is 192.168.1.254 that would be 192.168.1.12)

Enter your subnet mask (should be 255.255.255.0)

In the Gateway field entire your unaltered IP instead of your gateway (In this example that would be 192.168.1.254)

Enter your Primary and Secondary DNS.

Test connection to see if it worked,

This did the trick for my DS lite and after some effort I got it working on my DSi last night, though I had to enter the info from a game cart.

    Hope that helps

as above said..try to set up IP,WEP,subnet mask,DNS,Gateway manually

my netgear router seems not to able to assign IP address to DS via DHCP automatically as well.. it works perfect once everyone is manually set..

ps: you can use exactly same setting as ur current PC does..just change IP address a small bit...say +1 to last part..
