Hey boardies decided to go unregistered for this but:
Over the years i always had warts on my hands and soles of feet(verruca's i know)
it always affected my self confidence and you'd see me with my hands in my pockets all the time ,

i never got any treatment for them as my 'genius' father said they were too big and in too 'deep'

but the thing is over the last month they have started disappearing one by one and i'm delighted , in February I had 26 now i have ONE left and it's getting smaller.Even the clusters are gone,

the thing is even though i'm on top of the world, i want to know why, i've had these for 16 years and in one month there gone

did my immune system finally realise i had the wart virus and get rid of it
my diet is ok,nothing spectacular and the only change I've had is subway so....

just wondering if any body else had similar experiences

That's good to hear mate, should give you some confidence.
Perhaps the warts were stress related? My brother had warts on his knuckles for a couple of years, as soon as his dissertation as part of his degree was completed, they had all vanished within a month.

16 years of warts though, they must have been very hard on you.
Good luck getting rid of that last warty bastard!

i was in the same boat as you, from the the age of 11 to 19 i had between 20 and 30 warts on my hands, they all disappeared in a month just before my 20th birthday!!!

Its weird cos i had them frozen off 3 times but they kept coming back then they just disappeared

Go subway the official wart remover sandwich, :D I had warts doctor stuff never worked. It scarred the sh1t out of me the thoughts of getting them burnt off. I decided to start biting them off. Big mistake.

Anyway like you just start dying. I only noticed when I got that skin desiese from having your hands in oil. Cant think of it now.

    Anyway they died off

I didn't quiet have them for that long but I had about 30 warts on my hands for about a year or amybe two. They are a curse and I wouldn't wish them on my worst enemy. But, like you mine disappeared within a few weeks, and boardies, let me tell you how.

You wont believe me, but the old grandmothers cure worked...and for anyone who has them now, try it and I bet it will work. As soon as you wake up, take your first morning spit and rub it on the warts and let it dry in! Sounds like nothing but it works.

How it works???...when you sleep, your not eating (obviously!!) and this means acid from your stomach comes up and mixes with your saliva. This acid is very powerful and burns the warts away.

    Mine were gone within weeks!

Its good to see you post hear, going to a GP to ask this question would definitely have been a waste of time, but don't worry we have loads of doctors right here in PI!

My friend had loads on her hands as a child and they eventually just disappeared too. My son had verrucas, we tried loads of treatments even banana skin therapy where you put a piece of the skin against them under a dressing..it would shrink them a bit but they'd flare up again after a while. Thankfully they eventually died away themselves. I think it's probably just your immune system eventually sorting them out.

I was the same,i had 3 when i was a kid then got them frozen but instead of killing them they SPREAD!!! Had 28 in space of few weeks. I was told by doctor that there are male and female warts (not even joking!!!!:D) And thats why some spread and some dont. The main one that caused the spread died by itself and then all the rest followed. So could be the same for u????

I had one on my thumb which was really big and ugly, I used salatac gel to kill the virus and make it possible to remove the wart tissue but it was quite deep.

So I dug it out with my finger and thumb. It was very painful and there was blood everywhere, it also left a small hole in my thumb where the wart used to be. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone unless they've a high pain threshold but it does get rid of them fast and I wasn't left with a scar or anything, I just kept my thumb bandaged up until it healed and it looks normal now.

all together i had 4 i think and i had a huge one on my thumb, i got rid of that with the old potato trick , took ages though to get rid of it,

the next was on my palm and i used a liquid i got in the chemist,it was some sort of acid that dissolves the wart then use and nail file to wear it down while it was softened with the acid

the next was the other palm and i wasn't arsed going across the bedroom to use the acid stuff , so i thought i'd pick it out with a pen knife, (i know not the smartest thing ) but after a little pain and a lot of blood it was gone and that was the end of it ,

the last was on the foot and simply went away by it's self,

good to hear , all your warts are gone , let hope they won't come back , in your case i'd say it's the immune system finally sorting it out ,

You've just reminded me, I actually had a softish wart on the palm of my hand when I was a child. I kept biting it off and it kept growing back, eventually it just stopped and disappeared:o..I've maintained the tendency to operate on myself if anything irratating appears, like corns on my feet. Nail scissors are a great tool.

good to hear OP.. must be the same feeling people get when acne starts to clear up..

the few times i've had warts, i've done the cure of writting how many warts i had on a piece of paper and throwing in a hedge.. as the paper rots, the warts rot.

worked everytime because of the placebo effect i guess..

my god i'm exactly the same , who needs a doctor, all you is a scissors knife and tweezers to deal with all of your medical needs*

*warning operating on one self is extremely risky and can often make matters worse , seeking medical advice from a trained medical professional is the safest way of dealing with life's mistakes:D

Yeah, 'tis a bit risky poking at oneself with sharp things.I tried to cut my toenails with a razor blade once, couldn't find the scissors. I nearly bled to death:o.

oh been there, when will we learn that doing it yourself will make it worse ,

once had a little cut on my finger , used a plastic fork(don't ask) to get rid of a scab that was causing pain , the fork broke and got it stuck in my finger , was in a & e for 2 hours

Had a wart on the palm of my hand for about 2 years..just sat there did nothing and never really bothered me becasue it was small.

then sudenly over about 6 months maybe more it just started growing and became 3-4 times its original size, and then more smaller ones started appearing on my fingers and around the palm of my hand. started getting totally freaked and was conscious of it all the time.

i was decided on goin to a doctor to get it sorted or frozen or whatever..but before I could i went to a concert last year.....dunno what the hell i was drinkin or put my hand in but I copped on the monday headin home that all the small ones were dead and the big one was falling off!!
was madness two weeks later they were all totally gone and no scars.

few little ones stared appearing a while later...but then same thing just died off....nd nothing since....very weird

Out of the blue, I got a wart on my hand a couple of years ago. Someone recommended a strange remedy, and it worked a treat.

Dip some cotton wool in cider vinegar and put it on the wart. Cover this with a plaster and leave it on all day. Repeat the process each morning. It was completely gone within about a week or two.

Good Tip , i've a rumour that the blood coming out of a wart can cause more of the bloody:rolleyes: things , anybody know if this is true

A Sri Lankan friend told me he used garlic clove crushed and applied to the wart for 4 hours with a plaster as a safe natural remedy and the things fell off.

OP, Glad the warts are gone, it will improve your confidence.

Indeed, some of the posts here are a bit:eek:Just wanted to add for anybody reading with a similar problem that if you go to a GP you can be refered to an out patient day surgery ward at the hospital to have them removed.

Local anasthetic so no pain, obviously not the most enjoyable experience but so worth a half an hour's discomfort to get your confidence back.
