Breath of fresh air needed!!

Hi All,

this is a wee bit embarassing hense, unreg'd..

I have a problem with a smell of my breath.. I clean my teeth twice a day and give them a good auld clean and use mouth wash afterwards to no avail.

Has anyone had this problem and found a solution?

This is bordering on asking for medical advice so I'm not sure if the mods will allow it. Haliotosis (forgive my spelling) is a medical term for bad breath. It can be a sign of gum disease or occassionally something else that may need medical help. Definately go see your doctor/dentist.

Are you constipated/ have difficulty with digestion?

Eat more green vegtables like peas or beans.

How much water do you drink? The more water you drink, the fresher your mouth will be! Hows your diet?? Eats lots of fruit and veg too!

see your GP - bad breath (unrelated to dental hygiene) can be a symptom of a range of underlying medical conditions.

Among the causes of severe bad breath I've heard of are dental problems (not always noticible and solved by brushing) and pieces of tissue stuck in the nasal cavity, both requiring professional medical attention. Your best bet is to see your GP who will be aware of many more possible causes. Everything else that may be suggested here is pure speculation regarding a possible medical issue, so I'm going to close this thread.
