    Hi,

I have a Gibson Les Paul Studio, it has some bad fret buzz on the e string. I've messed about with the bridge but it still buzzes, so it could be curvature of the neck or the nut. So I don't want to be messing about with the truss rod or filing the nut.
Do you know anywhere that'd do it for me and do a good job.
I've heard xmusic will do it, are they decent?

Don't fear the truss rod, man. ;)
Even I can adjust 'em. :D

Unless you go completely ****in' mental you cannot damage your guitar by adjusting the trussrod.

If the action is not set too low, then either the fret is worn down or you need to straighten the truss rod. It's one of those 3.

Unscrew the screws on the small cover above the nut and place in the correct size allen key. A small turn clockwise, less than a quarter should be close enough or a big improvement.

If you press down on the low E string on the first fret and also press down on the same string on the last fret, you can see if the fret board is warped. If the string is touching the first and last fret, then the string should be touching all 22 frets. If not, the truss rod needs a seeing to.

You really need a little bit of relief. Ideally you want about the width of a plec between the top of the 8th & 9th frets and the bottom of the string.

OP, is the buzz on one or two frets or over the full length of the neck? Does the string buzz when you play it open?

A complete set up is shown here stage by stage in detail. It's meant for bass, but the idea is the same.
