You might want to visit the User CP, then Edit Options.

Check that the option labeled "Default Thread Subscription Mode" is set to "Do Not Subscribe" :-)

Then go to http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/subscription.php?do=viewsubscription and delete any ones you're currently subscribed to, that you no longer want to be updated on.
