I too am failing to see the problem. Unless of course it was a 6 pack of that American shíte that cannot be named, in which case I'd survive on the gravy for as long as I could before succumbing to a long, lingering, painful death secure in the knowledge that I didn't let myself or the Brotherhood down by drinking that stuff.

Thing is though, both liquids dehydrate you. Although drinking some liquid, within reason, as opposed to none, would at least maintain your blood pressure and would stave off fainting or extreme weakness for a very temporary time.

However, if the beer in question did happen to be that yellow chemical stuff that Zaph referenced...than I wouldnt see any point in prolonging the inevitable shrinkage of the brain.

If it's a good beer and no chance of Survival anyway, Drink the Beer, break the cans and make it sharp, top yourself. No use in starving to death.

If it's a bad beer, empty it, and continue with same as above.

The dehydration effect from a six pack of beer wouldnt be much tbh, especially if you drink it slowly. I'm not sure why you thik dilute gravy is dehydrating - saltiness maybe - but I'd still drink it if it meant surviving.
Mind you it would be last option after the beer!

I should mention that the gravy is pre-prepared. Unless you have some sort of seperation apperatus, the only way you're getting water out of it is if you drink the whole mixture!!

Heres another one- Would you drink a can of condensed milk in said desert, as you grow delerious with dehydration? If it was my only choice I would just grab the can and try to knock my brians out!

I have decided to answer this question as I first read it

Answer I really don't see a problem here but this would be my most likely course of action:

Step1: Eat a tunnel through the dessert (I'm imagining some sort of pavlova)
Step2: Hopefully by the time I have eaten my way out of the dessert my OH will have made a nice meal which could do with some gravy.
Step3: While having my gravy soaked meal I'd tuck into the beer (I'm presuming this is good beer)
Step4: Return to the giant dessert and finish it off!

Make a solar still out of an empty beer can.
This way you could even convert that american muck into a drink.

Course if you do it properly you would also get some whiskey which you could trade with the natives, give then a taste of the old firewater and they'll let you borrow their satellite phone and you'll be back home in time for last orders.

Lack of water is not a problem in the worlds biggest desert, Antartica.
