18-03-2009 09:17AM#1I know there's been threads where people have posted their PSN names before but I think it would be a good idea for there to be one thread thats just for listing user names of people who are playing this online. Looking for other boardsies/Irish people to go a few rounds with.
Might be handy for those looking for people around their skill level to play too. So list how experienced you are at the game if yea like or what characters you play.
The idea is for me to update this post so all the user names can be found in the one post listed out to make things easy for those looking to add a bunch of people.
On that note, I dunno how this works on boards, I don't think you can edit your post once you've posted another, so this will be my only post. Hopefully that way I can continue editing this original post to add to the list. Otherwise, I dunno, maybe the mods could help here.

leimrod: I don't have the game yet but will be getting it today as I received my gamepad for it yesterday. I'm a quick learner and have always liked fighters. Like kiki, I'll never ragequit. In fact I'm probably more likely to quit if I don't continually lose, it's boring not having a challenge

poohbear123: Haven't really played a Street Fighter game in years prior to getting SF4. I mainly use Blanka for online play and I am not fantastic at it but can beat most players, especially shotokan players, who ranks below 2000 points. Azza kicked my butt around over the weekend so he's definitely a better player than me if you want some reference. I am currently learning Balrog and Vega.
Will add you guys later but I am on ntl and it's not fantastic for gaming. The only lag free time for play is usually after 11pm or Friday evening. I suspect most people are out boozing instead of logged on on Fridays.
ps: would be good if this is a sticky

Ah for **** sake. I can't edit my post anymore. I've no idea why. Maybe it stops letting me edit when a new page appears. Damn it. It was working so well.

Many characters share the same input motions on the dpad to execute the special, super and ultra moves. If you can do Ken's ultra/super then you can do Ryu, Abel, Gouken etc. Replace the punch with kick and you can do the ultra/super for Sagat, Cammy etc. You'll get to remember who does what after playing for a while.how u guys memorize all diff chars special, super, ultra special moves i dont know, i shud play it more methinks
You can do all the moves for the characters you play. You'll just need to learn combos and strategies on what to do and when. Knowing what your opponent can do as well can help you anticipate and counter attacks. Reading guides and watching videos of top players can quickly show you what you can do in what situation.
Yeah, was wondering why you weren't blocking low as I got in a lot of sweeps. You need to starting holding down crouch back as soon as you are down and not wait until you are up if you are not doing that already. You should also work on doing wake up moves but obviously don't just pull them the move all the time.still havent figured out how to absorb one attack, or why when im crouching down and back i can still get hit with low kicks
Dpad is not great but most players are using the same controller so very few players at our level would have an advantage.doing my head in, and using the dpad is really ****ty 0 -

Anyway the manual won't teach you ****, only fighting better players will. As long as you try to pay attention to why it is you lost.
Don't worry about losing so much man. Its about the fight. not the score. The more you fight people who are a higher level then you, the more you'll start trashing people at your level.
Just played a long session with Azza there, and I decided to start playing as akuma again, whom azza tore to shreds most rounds, but I kept playing as akuma cause I wanted to improve my akuma game. Doesnt matter that I lost loads of rounds, what matters is my akuma is now better then he was before I played those rounds with Azza.
