I dont know where else to put this so feel free to redirect me.! I am looking to find out how to raise enough money for a horse holiday. I am a junior certificate student and already volenteer at weekends so dont have much time. Im hoping to have it raised by next year but have no idea how to without getting a job. A job and volenteering and study would be too much. I also pay for my own horse riding lessons which takes €20 off every week.! Any other suggestions.??

Fair play to you for volunteering at your age. You sound like a sound chap.

Any chance you could do one or two nights at the weekend glass collecting in a disco/bar etc?
If you volunteer during the day, night work is your only option left for the weekend.
Otherwise, part of the volunteer work will have to go I'm afraid. You have tough decisions ahead.

    Good luck in the future.

Moved from After Hours. Hope that's ok. Don't think I've been in here before. Hopefully someone here will be able to help you out from their own experiences.
Also what is a horse holiday?

Why is this in clearasil and hormones?

Well its pretty hard to get a job now im searching and its annoyin my ****e. You could try and just start work at the start of the summer and just save every penny you get up until your holiday if you find a job?

Have you tried asking your parents? Talking to them reasonably about it?

    Or..

Well, if you're intent on studying for the most pointless exam of your life, try make some good out of it. Strike a deal with your parents. You do well in the JC, they fork out for your horse play...

Twas in the After Hours 'cause I didnt know where to put it but moved ta here.

The volenteery work is in a stables for a blind man who cant look after his horse properly anymore. He kinda needs me as often as possible.

A horse holiday is a holiday where you go of on a trail ride on a horse. This one in particular is in Greece.

Parents dont exactly have a lot of money, hence why Im paying for it myself but the price of lessons are going up and even my money is running short from christmas. I really want to do this holiday too.

So yeah, Im a bit stuck for saving without drop my grades (Which I wanna do well in for personal acheivement) or quit at the stables (also something I would really want to avoid).

Im not sure if a part time job will get me all.:(

Min wage is irrelavent...unless you've 2 years prior work done, which would be illegal at his age(i think)....

You'd probably be doing very well to get 6.50 an hour. ~17-20 hours a week and you have the 100 quid.

If you could... 2 long shifts at the weekend and maybe an hour here and there would work.

How about you flog stuff on ebay? Not the clothes off your back or anything, but things you don't use/need anymore.

You seem pretty into horses, could you give horse riding lesons to younger kids at the stables where you work? Why don't you put up signs around your area advertising babysitting/dog walking services.

wow that holiday sounds great, wouldn't mind going on it myself!:)
but there's hardly any part time work going at the moment, especially if you're under 16.
have you thought of maybe asking your stables if you could have your lessons free in exchange for mucking out and grooming the horses and stuff like that? if you could get them to agree to that, you could save the money you'd normally spend on lessons...

I already help there for 4 hours saturday morning before going to the volunertary job. So really I have two. But thanks. I might try that. My sundays are free now because the show-jumping comp is finished. It will help a small bit.
