from someone like Derek Nelson, how much would a set up, inc fret levelling cost?

Im trying to lower the action on a guitar, but cant get it as low as desired, and i feel it could be due to unlevel frets. I would call him, but it means calling out to his place, getting him to look at the guitar and asses the situation.

before i get to that i wana see how much roughly it would cost.

    Thanks.

It can cost up to €300 in some places, but some guitars need more work than others so it does vary on each instrument.

is it a task that should be really left to the pro's or is it easy enough, with the right tools?

Im thinking its a pro job, but as the tools could be had cheap enough, its just an idea im throwing around.

its just 300 quid, plus another 150 for a setup is a lot of money in todays climate.

I do my own, but more than one cheap POS was sacrificed on the way. I wouldn't try to learn how to do it on something I wanted to play again, put it that way. If you do decide to learn how to do it, get something disposable to practice on and spend big (well over €50) on a good crowning file.
