I'm being made redundant and receive single parents payment from the social welfare. Am i eligible for the dole even though i receive this or where do i stand? I've worked with the company for three years but they are only counting since i returned from maternity leave and as such say they only have to give me two weeks notice and no redundancy payment.Any help would be great-thanks

Maternity leave can't be seen as a break in service unless you signed a new contract after returning with different terms than your initial ones.

If you are on one parent family first contact the office to inform them you are no longer working, so this payment will probably increase, as they won't be taking your earnings into account any longer.
You are also entitled to claim half rate jobseekers benefit - if you have enough PRSI contributions
