Haha, I'm still the same over two weeks later! Getting the pack is a great feeling, just remember to send your confirmation letter back asap. Just have to get a shopping list together now and look forward to 30th March woohoo!! Have you handed in your notice to your current workplace yet? I did yesterday, don't finish until 7th April but am counting down the days...

Well people, just handed in my notice, I have to give four long weeks! I'm wanting to take the week off though before I start the training but even if I could get away with resigning a week earlier I've been told it will effect my pension because technically its 1 week im unemployed argh! I work for the civil service so the remainder of my time here will be working up flexi so I am able to take most of that week off. So annoyed!! :(

With regards to Garnerville everything I'm reading is scaring the crap out of me! haha. Is anybody doing things like bringing their own duvet? And do you bring casual clothes for night time and smart clothes for during the day even though you will be in the stuff provided most of the time? And what are actually are the clothes that are provided? I'm so dense, help!

Oh and by the way if we are gonna do ages ranges im between 20 - 25 :D

Erm, mid 20s I guess, although on the far side of 25!

I am bringing my own duvet cover for definite, I was thinking that on the 30th at the induction day we could ask the guys on the march intake whether a duvet would be advisable too. Def my own pillow as it supposedly helps you sleep if you have your own!! My friend told me casual for evenings although the tracksuit they provide you with is what you wear a lot, and for during the day I think they provide you with a uniform as in boots (we have to learn to polish!), trousers, shirt. But I was told to bring my own suit/smart clothes for the classroom just in case there is any delay in getting the uniform they provide... Somebody correct me if I am wrong!!

I tried reading through most of the posts on the other threads but still have loads of questions, am hoping most of them get cleared up at induction day. Roll on 30th March, can't wait!

    hey guys

had a women ring the house earlier when i was out and my dad answered and said she would ring me on my mobile but no call came through, although i was driving through an area with no signal at the time. how many times will they try to contact us regarding starting? i am maybe just clutching at straws as i would expect nickni to be staring before me and also my merit number is too high for starting this soon i think. also do they ask for you with both names or just your first name? any help would be much appreciated. mainly to stop me going mad. thank you.

I think I read on one of the other threads that they measure you on the induction day, then hopefully get uniform on the first day of training. I've just spent the morning going through the 'starting at garnerville' thread to get my shopping list sorted!

can anyone currently in garnerville let us know for def about getting measured, and also about what clothes to take?? there's been a few different posts but would be handy to have from somebody who is there at the minute or has been there recently?! ta
