    Haven't posted in a while but anyway ... I got the offer for April and was delighted to get it but sent the form back to say I wouldn't be starting so hopefully that will bump somebody up the RC list. I also got the offer for the Gardai and went with that and started here in February so am in my 6th week here and am happy to go with that.

    So just wanted to say good luck to the April crew - hope you have a great time and just hope I've made the right decision but I think I have. After the terrible events of last night it is great to see the positive attitude of people on here and rightly so but it does make you think about the dangers involved a bit. I had already declined the offer before all this and I think if I was still waiting it would have made me more determined than ever.

    I was between 200 - 250 merit and non RC! Was so not expecting the call! I just sat in work in shock the rest of the day!

    But that was my merit number before i went for the medical, I never checked it again after!

    nice one man congrats. your merit number stays the same no matter what, ie - people failing vetting/medical. they just would become a blank space in the list!
