    Anybody have any tips for dealing with oversensitivity and lack of confidence. I'm overcoming pnd and have tried talking therapy, cbt, meditation, positive thinking etc, but i'm still crippled when it comes to dealing with people. It's ruining everything... job, relationship, decision making, parenting, home life.

    if you've been through this and have any advice please reply. Thanks

    I too suffer the same problem, so let me give na overview of what I found out of myself. First you should try to find out the why's of your confidence issues and then try to work them out. Don't start pointing your finger at every possible direction. I understand a big part of my confidence issues lie in me not accepting parts of my body very well. Giving a few examples:

    * pee wee size
    * breasts size
    * damaged teeths

    On the other hand, I have little to no culture. So whenever I am around co-workers, I am more of a listener and less of a speaker, mainly because my interest in politics, religion, sports, cars is less to none, but I do join in great style when we're speaking of women and sex though.

    That said, the causes are identified. So I have two choices, the easy one is Not doing anything at all about it and keep trying to work out the confidence issues through other means or, on the other hand, analyse the problem, be as truthful to myself and work very hard to overcome all these confidence blocker factors. Parts of my list can be worked out with some therapy and some self-accepting meditation (guess there's some pompous name for this) which wont be measured easily so can't be used as a goal, but something like "Continuous work in progress". On the other hand, I can do all sorts of things, like working on my hygiene, going to the dentist until I feel my smile is pleasing and my oral health is OK, grab all the free journals, read some interesting discussions on board ie and start to analyse how some people argue their POVs and try to learn as much as possible. Just a few random ideas thrown together, I will certainly do that myself, so get on and don't be afraid to start. Work competitively and less than you notice it, you'll reach your goals feel the brave one.
