Shorted Dummy Jack

    Hey,

    Have not been here in a while, Quick question hopefully someone can clarify for me,

    On Page 2 of the Marshall TSL-122 Manual they refer to a Shorted Dummy Jack..

    Does any one know if I can simply plug in a short patch lead into the send and not connect it to anything or do I have to rewire the patch lead to create a short?

    If it is the latter do you know what way to wire it?

    You just need a 1/4" plug with the tip wired to the sleeve.
    This is best diagram I could find quickly. It's of a stereo jack, you'll be using a mono jack so you wont have the terminal marked R. The plug's the one on the left obviously.
    Simply wire T (tip) to S (sleeve)

    For neatness and the reliability of the connection make sure to screw the cover back on.

    Take a short patch cable and wrap a bit of tin-foil tightly around one end with an elastic band and you've got a shorted cable :pac:

    Although obviously you'd want something more permanent and neat if it was something you were using a lot :D
