    hi,
i'll be buying my first tube amp soon and would appreciate some advice.
i have an epiphone les paul and will be looking for something that can give me a versatile sound, nice clean tones for ambient jangly music (the odd bit of jazz too), and bluesy/funky scratchy stuff to rock and more heavier stuff. just overall good versatility.
i've been looking at a few such as the LANEY VC30-210, HUGHES&KETTNER EDITION TUBE 25TH ANNIVERSARY, PEAVEY CLASSIC 30 BLACK VINYL, RANDALL RG-50 TC. all are about 20 or 30 watts, something that i can play at home but will also work at samll gigs and practices. im thinking of buying of thomann or going to the x music store.
anyone any experience with any of these or any other ideas i've not listed. budget is about 600 max.
    thanks for any help.

I'd go for the peavey classic 30 or you could have a snoop around adverts for a S/H Fender Hot Rod Deluxe they're savage for clean tones and work great with distortion pedals. The onboard distortion isnt any use for heavy rock really but suits blues well

I agree with previous thread a second hand fender delux would be worth looking at.
