Well I had a bit of a head start but i now know...

    Gingercop
    Cpt Sensible!! LOLOLOLOL :D
    Carlty
    Squirrel
    Cooper
    PC Inwaiting
    Silver
Pandapants (thanks to some good detective work by Carlty ;) btw what was her forfeit??)

    and I think that's it...

Obviously I was the big English guy... I was relevance guy :(

And yes Carlty was sat with me after morning break during the UU lecture :)

I'm dead excited by it all... apparently my hair's too long but meh... not like i've never had a no.2 before :D

It is a bit overwhelming but everyone must must keep telling themselves its all an act to separate the wheat from teh chaff.

I was talking to some of the greens who are in pandapants's squad and they were saying after a while they relax and its not so bad... its all just to test if you can hack it.

And I was really struck with how nice everyone is... everyone you met spoke to you, offered help, reassurance. etc etc... can't wait to get cracking :D

Feeling a bit better about everything now, came home and freaked out a bit.

You and Carlty only knew who I was cause you asked another girl was I ........, some police work lol.

Trying out this whole no make up thing today, went to the shops and no one ran away in horror, so thats a start.

We still on for lunch tomorrow, although I feel like I should not leave the house with all this work to do!!!!!.

I told you who I thought it was and you agreed with me. Surely I have to be allowed some credit for that?! Particularly since PandaPants said she had no idea what I was talking about when I challenged her (sneaky devil :P).

As for PC_Inwaiting... I had a choice of two people and I picked the wrong one. Doh! :D

    MrFug kept pretty quiet yesterday!

I was fairly insistant, so she would've caved sooner or later (whether I was right or not). :D

    I had a fifty-fifty chance of getting the PC_Inwaiting one right/wrong. I chose badly. Sorry PC_Inwaiting. It won't happen again. :o

I found it hilarious that some of you guys thought that I was a security plant! I would've loved to have been able to play up on that one. :D

It didnt even cross my mind until PCI mentioned it. I felt sick straightaway, but didnt even notice you in the lecture theatre. So was ready for you coming through the door all togged up with lanyards and badges. It was awful. Pretty much how you must feel if you have done something wrong and are sent to the CI's office

That explained the look on your face when you finally realised that it was me sitting in the row in front of you. You looked as if you were thinking "Why is he smiling over at me", then "Phew, it's Carlty". :D

Has anyone had a look at disc yet? I assume that there are 2 sets of the same information on it just in different formats? I'm gona get it printed off today and see what it's all about.
Was nice to meet you all, and to be honest I was taken back by just how friendly everyone was both in our squad and all the other squads.
Guess i'm going to have to keep telling myself it's only 20 weeks of my life......

im in C too, i meet captain senisble yesterday! Got chattin to him a bit at dinner! Legend for admiting to it like! I have you read teh standing order thing, its like 105 pages

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,258 ✭✭✭carlty888

Have I read it? Not a chance. I've only just printed the thing off.

I'm not too daunted by it. More by those darn definitions, although the probably won't be so bad if they're broken down into bite-sized chunks.

I was awestruck by Captain Sensible's chameleon impression. How did he go so red so fast?!

lol yeah i could feel the heat from the other side of the room lol, i tried printing them but my printer just died off! The course seems interesting! I'm more determined to get through though! The chief seems likes a hard nut but fair and understanding

Courtesy is an essential quality, one that will smooth many a path.........do you think the boyo who's gona be takin us for drill goes by this code of conduct!?
I printed of the handbook, workbook and defs today on my mates printer. The hand book is massive. Much to my mates disgust....
Are there any tips to learning defs? Somebody told me to learn them to a song. Haven't decided if it should be rock or dance yet? Have you had a butchers at The Power of Arrest one! Flippin heck....

Yeah shame he didn't 'skim talk' that whole lecture...

Anywho, I was thinking about this whole memorising thing yesterday and it occured to me that I know a rediculous amount of songs and films word for word just from listening to and watching them so many times. So I am guessing that writing it out over and over is a good idea.

As boring as it sounds I think I am going to record myself saying them too. Not decided on that yet though because we have to have punctuation spot on too. I could always 'read' the punctuation as well, but meh dunno if it'll be worth the bother.

LOL Colonel Mustard!! At least that gave me giggle to get my day started!

Also... do I REALLY have to pronounce 3 as tree? I'm going to sound like fool attempting to do that!

Does anyone know if we need to re-write the autobiography again in the workbook?im assuming t is the same one we had to write out in the lecture theatre?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 323 ✭✭squirrel81

i left the autobiography blank hoping one of you would hint at whether its worth doing again or not. Id happily do it again anyway, to make up for the travesty i handed in on monday :( Spent 3 hours doing 'courtesy' there, finally nailed it. I hope anyway

3 hours to do 1 defintion?eek:eek: havnt quite started the definitions yet although i have mastered gowisely lol

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 23 jumping jack

This maybe a stupid question but do we have to learn everything on each page of the definitions or is it just the articles and acts leaving out e.g critical incident and list of HRA 1998?

you'll probably have it sorted in half the time, just my attention span this morning was a bit wayward with being in work and all. Cleared out my desk this afternoon, the amount of bumf I have held on to for no reason is mad. Found a tenner though, so all good :) Getting a bit sad about leaving now, going to be very strange!

I thought it was everything. He did say 'those pages word for word'. Didn't make any specific reference to only certain parts of it.

All the comma and everything??!! damn that's pretty good! I am expecting it to take me longer than that :(

commas and all. There's only 3 in courtesy, so its not so bad punctuation wise. Can't wait to get stuck into powers of arrest  Jumping Jack, I think all within the pages has to be memorised, with exception for the titles of each definition.

Have you all completed the exercises in the workbook, ie the ICF exercises? I feel like a wee rabbit caught in the headlights of an on-coming car! I think i'm stunned.

I've read through most of the stuff, almost got the first def, but I've only looked at the workbook. Haven't actually started into it yet. I wanted to have read everything else first (I'm training myself to read vertically you know  :D).

I imagine we're all a little daunted at the moment, but that's only because we're looking at the whole lot of it at once. If we take it one little piece at a time it won't be quite so bad. Well. That's what I'm hoping anyway. :p
