No, that's just the camera angle. The third light (used in blink mode) is attached to the end of the handlebar.

    Here's my Litespeed BlueRidge tourer.

Which dynamo hub are you using there? Is that a Schmidt?

Yes, it's a Schmidt SON. The lights are B&M Lumotec (switched). They're set up as primary and secondary, so I can either one or both lights. One is plenty for city use. Both lights have 'stand' lights, whereby even if I stop, the lights keep lit for a few minutes. Handy at traffic lights, etc. I love the setup.

Does anyone stock Schmidt and Lumotec in Ireland or did you mail order them? I was thinking of using that kind of set-up for my brevet bike.

    New addition to the family:

In this picture it's fresh off the truck, still has bits of bubblewrap on it.

Great for the kids and really works the legs!

I got my setup from http://www.kinetics.org.uk/ had a new wheel built around the hub.

They even cut the wires to length for me, so fitting was very easy.

    Garfield.

Nice bike, looks very similar to my own. Was the DA7900 very expensive?

Nice tourer and cargo bike DualFrontDiscs!

Got it for 1300 even from cyclesupertore. I was getting the wheels also, so they knocked 50eur off. I changed the cassette from the default one, but we forget to put it in the bag, so I have to call back tomorrow and pick that up. I also got two rear skewers, so need to swap one of them. Was nice to deal in a shop for once. Got to bring the frame in with me, so I could see if silver or black wheels worked best :o
That and they had stock, and were cheaper than everyone else I researched.

cheers, was cycling out to a christmas race late 2008, guy from orwell turns to me and says, 'new bike?'. 'nope! i just clean it all the time!' lol

DOn't go for white bar tape. A disaster. I spend more time cleaning the bar tape than I do the bike (or myself for that matter).
Goes a manky yellow colour due to my gloves.

    Red is probably better.

How are you cleaning the bar tape? My spesh had white but it turned grey.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,088 ✭✭✭ba

thats new bar tape! had to change it after a crash, but normally i would use one of those shoe polisher brushes. does a great job cos the bristles are way tough. that and loads of suds.

I heard CIF Bleach is pretty good.

my best job so far... pity bout that double overlap on the bend!

Here's my fleet. Bit of an On-One bias but they're great. The Thorn Audax Mk3 is most recent buy, and great value too. The parts use to be on Tiny Explosion's Mercian. The front rack on the Il Pompino (singlespeed, not fixed) is from the USA, Cetma Racks - it makes it into a fine shopping rig. The Inbred MTB has an shimano Alfine hub and the bike beside it is my fixie, another Il Pompino.
