Im doing reasearch that will hopefully lead to me purchasing a new tele.
Ive played a whole bunch and my fav so far are the fender american standard.

Im also curious to see what bacchus have on offer so i checked that main dealer on ebay. there are nice bacchus tele's but they all have two things i dont like:

vintage tiny tiny frets ( i like medium jumbo fender frets, i also hate the jumbo fender frets. really has to be medium jumbo).

The fact that i have to remove the pickguard to adjust the trem, i like that to be up at the top of the neck.

I cant find a bacchus tele that has either of these features. im prob gona get the fender, eventually, but just wondering can you get such a bacchus tele?

I presume you're talking about truss rod adjustment here? Just did a quick search on ebay and found bacchus teles with the adjustment on the headstock. But i know that the vintage series will have the truss rod adjustment at the base of the neck, but how often do you adjust the truss rod?
As for fret size, it's very much down to preference. But all i'll say is, if you have any doubts over the quality of the instruments, forget them! My Bacchus is easily the best strat i've played, and i've played a lot of strats, it's simply amazing, and my bacchus isn't the top of the range, it cost me under 800 squids delivered.

how often do i adjust the truss? not very often, but i still want the option to do it without removing the pickguard.

im not concerned with the quality of the bacchus at all, ive heard nothing but good things about them. likewise, the fender Am Std tele i played was excellent quality also(im sure many will disagree on hearing fender and quality in the same sentence). i asked the question to see if a bacchus that fits my needs is available.

Cut a notch in the pickguard if it's that much of an issue.

In fairness, what's the difference between removing the bell cover and removing the pickguard to adjust the truss rod? Perhaps a tiny bit more work but not much

its clear now, the fender is the one to go for. exactly what i need. no cutting of pickguards or settling for something i dont want.

In my opinion there is just no comparison between an American Standard Fender and what Bacchus are doing, awkward truss adjustment or not. I sold my AmSe strat last year, a Bacchus G Player will be what replaces it. I'd rather have the superior instrument than a slightly easier truss adjustment any day.

Are you looking at the ones which are built accurately to old Fender specs or are you looking at the contemporary models? The T Standard and T Master have a spoke wheel at the base of the neck so you can adjust the truss rod without even using an allen key. If that's not the easiest of all I don't know what is? But hey, if you think the Fender is the way, don't let me stop you ;)

I thought all vintage fender styled guitars had their truss rod under the pickguard? No? My vintage strat sure does.

For the sake of 2 minutes exta work, and something that you wont need to adjust every day, the Bacchus is a no brainer. But i guess i can see where the OP is oming from, not being able to play before he buys, but that's a risk well worth taking IMO.

EDIT: Look at this beauty Bacchus 66 tele Free delivery from Japan too!

But if he doesn't like small vintage sized frets then why look at a vintage model in the first place? The T Standard is the contemporary equivalent of an American Standard - ie an old design with modern refinements - so I can't see what the fuss is about, tbh.

The fuss is that i know what i want in a guitar, and as bacchus is regarded with such reverence on this forum i wanted to see if what i wanted was available.

Its just very difficult to find info on bacchus guitars, as the sites are all in japaneese ( at least i think its japaneese). also as the sites are in japaneese many wont show up in a google search for "bacchus guitar".

if bacchus make a tele with rosewood fretboard, medium jumbo frets, the standard two single coils and a truss i dont have to dismantle the guitar to adjust then i would defo go for one. they are real beauties, but there just isnt one with the spec that i want, at least not one that i can find anyway.

besides www.japanvintageguitars.com, where do you guys find out about bacchus guitars? their site is terrible so info on them is sparse on the ground.

Nope, not all of them. Also not all vintage Fender styled guitars are accurate. ;)
