He said that on the 9th there would be an event that would start the beginning of a huge economic downturn. This is the event that he is pointing to I guess http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601039&refer=columnist_mccaughey&sid=aLzfDxfbwhzs It seems on the 13th something else is going to happen.
    Dow closes down at 383
    SNP down 39
I might add he made his prediction months ago.

We've been in the middle of a huge economic downturn for months already and it's nowhere near over. It is quite likely that there are other major surprises around the corner, including further collapses of major banks and monetary systems. You do not need to be a genius to figure this out. Nor do you need to have access to some souper-seekrit classified grainy video footage of the NWO, Illuminati, Osama Bin Laden and BigFoot playing football against the abominable snowman, Loch Ness Monster and ET to predict this might happen.

He predicted the 9th, it's now the 11th so he's hedging his bets. This is what hedge fund managers and economists do every day, nothing new here :pac:

The fact is that someone somewhere is going to make a prediction that turns out to be correct, by law of averages, nothing more. There are hundreds of predictions flying around about what will happen next and when it will happen. Someone, by sheer fluke and blind luck will hit the nail on the head and then be hailed as some sort of global financial and economic expert.

    Lucky every time.

But there was no major event on the 9th. Besides that event could easily be the stimulus package which was passed on the 10th, and it wouldn't be hard to figure out when that would be announced.

What I find intriguing about this guy is his propensity for cryptic messages. Maybe hes right, maybe not, however he uses a style which seems mischievous and sinister at the same time, in a fight club esque kind of way, erring more on the sinister insane side. Its intended to scare people so they can make up their own interpretations, fear of the unknown and all that. It could well be a nice way to incentivize more people to pay the 720 dollar subscription hes charging. In short he is easily be a very smart person with some insider knowledge making a lot of money out of the panic.

He has made 4 stock market crash predictions to the date so far, months in advance. Thats very hard thing to do. Here is one he made in july

    http://finance.google.com/group/google.finance.983582/browse_thread/thread/aad550b590f931bf?pli=1

    "Crash is in September."
    yup
and the negative news that will move the market downward should occur
Sept 15

He made reference to this on his site yesterday cryptically as usual. http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601039&refer=columnist_mccaughey&sid=aLzfDxfbwhzs
I don't know what the hell to make of it though. Doesn't seem much of a trigger. Time will tell I guess.

Plenty of economists have also made similar predictions and been correct. The difference is that these guys don't wrap their predictions up in 'OMG TEH NWO R HERE IN MAI STOK MARKUT' or similar claims.

/However, all of this aside, anyone who doesn't think the stock markets and share prices are regularly rigged and manipulated is foolish. That's how many people make a lot of money. Where I differ from CT people is that I don't believe that there is one central power with one aim behind that. There are certainly large corporations and financial funds that aim to control prices but they are not a part of some shady group of 8-9 men who aim to control the world imo.

Who are all these economists accurately predicting to the date major economic events?

That sentence is grammatically terrible. Just awful.

LoL. You know you're starting to win the argument when the grammar nazi's start to come out.

His site is a buzz again. "oprah.. apparently they can't get enough? " and "everyone gets a ride"? He has a picture of a girl on a bed with the number 7 on a lampshade next to her. Remember the synthetic CDO's, 6 companies have gone bankrupted. If one more goes it starts. I'm guessing that's the meaning of the number 7.Will see how the markets go today. Asia has closed in the red.

if there is a financial meltdown this week or next it will be seriously spooky

if there is a financial meltdown this week or next it will be seriously spooky

Why? Because it was predicted for the 9th?

In the current climate of banks failing etc, its fairly likely that there will be meltdowns of the stock market like we had a few weeks ago.

yes but Reinhardt predicted this in October, that following the 9th of Feb there would be a meltdown! All his other predictions are bang on, they're right there on the net if you want to look. But the seriously spooky thing is he's saying that there will be a third world war in October of 2012. An Israeli academic stated yesterday that the conflict in Gaza will sow the seeds for a much more serious conflict on an unimaginable scale!!! Gerald Celente, CEO of the Trends Research Institute referred to the Gaza conflict as possibly leading to a massive conflict in the ME which could result in a global nuclear war. The signs are bad. The human race has held off this long but the final battle is approaching.

From what I can see from the first few posts, it was predicted to happen on the 9th, not around. Why are the goalposts being changed once we passed it?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,609 ✭✭✭Flamed Diving

A lot of the Annual Reports for 2008 are being released by banks around this time. If the **** is going to hit the fan, its gonna be around now. But the prediction about the 9th has been false.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,184 ✭✭✭nyarlothothep

He was misquoted, he never said the collapse would happen on the ninth, he said a chain of event would be set in motion from the 9th that would lead to it within a week. He was out by 1 day, but thats still freakily accurate. The conspiracy is that Legatus are manipulating the markets and that there is a planned nuclear war in 2012

Christ read the posts dude.AGAIN, I mistakenly quoted him wrongly by saying there would be a crash on the 9th. He didn't say that. He said there would be a trigger. Go to post #40 and read it.

There has been worse days on the stock exchanges in the last few months, so I can't see how this is any more disastrous than the others. Also the markets are creeping back up

Ok. Well, it wouldn't surprise me if things started going wrong (er) now. All the cards are being laid out on the table over the next few weeks.

I don't know anything about that Legatus thing. More than likely complete paranoid lunacy.

    :pac:

Riddler Reinhardt is at it again. "an educated guess" he's got crossed out "UP" on his site with a link to this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TSqkdcT25ss
    I'm not good with riddles.

The Dow was at around 13000 then. It's now at around 7800. A big fall in the markets now is a lot worse then six months ago.

Youtube Legatus, their motto is christian business leaders trying to change the world and influence the markets or something like that. Its a blatant admission. Its really creepy!!! And it all ties in with Celentes doom mongering very nicely. The US is economy fooked and they will make a last ditch effort to invade another country to acquire resources.

The implications of the link are extraordinarily bad. To be blunt, its cats and dogs living together, mass hysteria!

Ye still haven't picked it up...
"checks clear on the 13th" More importantly has anyone not noticed the news. AIG being investigated for cooking the books. Anyone who has been reading reinhardts stuff regularly and the relevant discussions will already know to have been watching sears and AIG.
I have no doubt the run on the banks commences tomorrow.
As he had predicted weeks ago, it's all going as he said now. The AIG distraction is the key i think. This weekend is the kick-off.
So tomorrow there wil be the previously seen electronic run on the banks.
Another of the 9 CDO "couldn't possibly fail" companies will go pop, bringing the synthetic CDO fireworks ever closer.
And even more interesting is the banks have as much as 30% puts on gold prices ready to short. Everyones a winner, providing you are in the club :P
    Not us lot obviously :)

I've decided to put a self-imposed ban on looking at the internet if nothing happens today.
