I remember when I was young, I always loved this Rover coupe. Still quite like it actually:

There's far too many desirable cars in this thread, might as well rename it "what car do you like?".

I too always liked older Volvos, you wouldn't look twice at one on the road packed full of kids though.

A second vote for the Cherokee:

And what I was close to buying last year before i realised I could get insured on what I have now:

And not just the Viggen, i just love these cars.

A nice 190e would be nice too.

I like the new type of astras, might get one on the cheap in a year or two. I could live with owning 2 cars!:D

For me the Car I like but have no reason to is the the Nissan Nivara

    let me explain this

    I HATE 4X4's

IMO they have no business being on public roads, (Just buy a Van or a People Carrier)

But for some reason I love the Nivara. and I almost bought 1 a few month back!! WHY???

    Argh!
    anyway here are some pics!

    nissan-navara.jpg

    and finally this photo

Look at it there pulling the Boat out of the water!, So versatile a vehicle... It can go anywhere

although in this country the most Off Road stuff that car would see in this country though is someones driveway

Volvo 480, I dunno why, I guess it looks somewhat unique but I hear it's a pretty crap car:
    Volvo480_TwoTone.JPG

Same here, I have always had a hankering for one of these. I'm a fan of the old school Volvos anyway but the 480 appeals the most (apart from different era P1800)!

Where do I start? At one point or another, I have had a hankering for all of these:

Renault 4 (scratched that itch :))

    You bought one? Recently?

A lot of cars here that anyone would think was cool - so not really that bizarre!

I absolutely love the Chrysler 300C. It's not the least bit subtle, reportedly poor visibility, probably handles like crap - but I can't help myself.

Lord help me but.....Talbot Tagora SX V6

The short-lived, unloved Tagora wasn't a bad drive. The manual 130mph V6 SX was startlingly quick (0-60 in 8.5 seconds),and handled well on its fat TRX-shod alloys. 17 mpg though.

Wow that brings me back - I remember my Dad had a Talbot Solaro for years , i thought it was great at the time :)

Thought the same. Something is done to it anyway, front wheel looks off.

    Opel_Record_iso.jpg

My Dad used used to have a maroon coloured one back in the (very) early 80's. Some of my earliest memories are of us going for spins in that car.

Had a dark blue one of these before the Record

Had one for about a week before some idiot crashed into it while it was parked outside a restaurant. Still love it.

Speaking of Q cars, at a glance it could be a 100/A6

I wouldnt say this is a bizarre attraction at all. They are a very good looking car. Saying they are just a focus underneath is very wrong. They share a basic platform with the focus but in reality have very little in common. They are more similar to the s40 than the focus and feel completely different to drive.

I agree with what you are saying but the S40 is also based on the Focus, both cars are just as much Focus as each other.

Here's a car I've been having a strange attraction to:

Would love one with a ST engine inside an SS body, bit of a sleeper too.

Might pick one up when I can afford to run a day-to-day car and weekend car

yeah but the same platform alone does not mean they are basically the same car.

I agree about the Rover. I saw one the other day and thought "id have that...". Hand finished interior in those as far as i know as well which probably means it was ****e but the thought is what matters.

It is another car that suffers from being the car of choice of Alan Partridge though. "I drive a Rover...Vitesse"

Strangely enough, the Lexus IS he later drove was never tarred with the same brush.

    This:
    CB4_1318764_1_1191254.jpg

Had one in the 80's (my second ever car). Dunno if it is the mist of time or if it genuinely was a nice car, but I remember it fondly.

The one in the pic (currently for sale on carzone) certainly tempts me.
