I'm still surfing this site. Can anyone recommend a writing group? Looking for folks interested in young adult literature.

    Welcome to Boards! :)
You probably won't find too many people on this site with a wide knowledge of writing groups in South Texas! Good luck though.

Maybe OP meant an online writing group :)

What qualifies as young adult literature, btw? I've never been clear on the genre's scope. Assuming a "young adult" is early teens, I was into Poe and Lovecraft at that age. I wish I could get away with writing stuff that purple these days :D

Young adult literature encompasses lit for teens between the ages of 13-18.

I read classics at that age as well, but as a middle school teacher I've kept up with this genre for years simply so I could recommend books to my students.

There's a large 'young adult' section on www.fictionpress.net - though, much of the stuff on that site isn't worth the electrobits it's printed on :P

www.storiesville.com is pretty good.Used to go on it all the time, but now I haunt this place:p.The website is mainly young adult but there are some old fogies like myself.
They have a points scheme going on, where you get points when you comment on others stories. When you want to sudmit your own stories, i think its 3 points. The first story is free.
But if that aint your cup of tea, there are plenty of them out there.Just got to google it.:)
    Christian.
