Out of curiousity to those who listen, do you speak French and understand the lyrics, or just in it for the beats?

I was at a few gaff parties over the summer with a rake of French, some quality beats on the stuff played and the flow of the vocals is pretty cool, but I cant really imagine stickin a load of music on the iPod that I dont understand.

Just wondering like

have a couple of albums. I did french as far as leaving cert, can pick up some of the lyrics, but not much, as I'd guess they use a lot of slang. But the beats and flow on some of the stuff are pretty sweet.

IAM - L'ecole du Micro D'argent is a pretty nice album (you'll probably like it if you enjoy Wu-Tang style hip-hop)

I got a few albums off a french guy not long ago which were pretty nice - can't think off the names now off the top of my head, will get back to you on it!

I did French up to Leaving Cert so I understand some of the words but they use alot of slang so some tunes are impossible to understand. Some great beats in French hip hop though.

I listen to bits and pieces. IAM are deadly. My french is a bit rusty though so I don't understand alot of it.

i know a ot of french and catch stuff from slower flows.

but i think the beats and just the general flow of the rapper can make it good.
