What graphics card for Dell Dimension 5000?

    Hi,

    I want to get a new graphics card,
    I have a Dell Dimension 5000, 4Gb ram, 28" screen
    Is this one compatible?

    I doubt it. I think the 4670 needs an external power source and the standard power supply in the Dimension 5000 doesn't have the 6-pin connector for one. So you'd need to upgrade the PSU too.

    Also, the case won't take any double-slot cards due to its design, so no 8800GTX or HD 4850s for example.

    4670 will work fine, it doesnt need external power.

    What are your specs kbeg?

    If its not a dual core cpu, your best off getting a cheaper card.

    It would be at most a P4 HT, the chipset (i915G) can't take dual core processors.
