FFS, obviously Moving Shadow are quite fckin anal about their music so.

I'd say you will get away with the account though, I'd say it would only be a problem if another label or artist makes a complaint which is probably unlikely. Although, some of the bigger labels may have a problem... I just recently stuck up some Warp tunes so maybe I should remove them!

anyway ill continue to upload anyway!

What rap tunes? :D Don't think I have any rap up, but maybe I do! I do have a lot of more recent tunes though that are on current labels and that so they could be risky. I think most oldskool stuff though where the labels no longer exist are pretty safe.

Yeah I'd continue as normal till they say otherwise, which prob wont happen anyway.

Has anyone got Pianoman - Blurred, the original not remix.. I thought it'd be dead easy to find on mediafire but all I can find on the net is the new versions.

Many thanks!

Dont have a you tube account but when mediafire done maintenance recently i tried logging on & it said i had no files stored:eek:
Pis.sed off isnt the word when i tought that i had lost all the stuff i had uploaded cause it had taken a long time to put all that stuff up:mad:.......only way maybe around it is if youtube are searching for track titles to rename your tunes 01, 02, 03 etc. & keep a reference on yer PC locally what tracks they are....only a suggestion might not be that simple.;)

The thing with Mediafire is it is free and if some files don't show any activity they just delete them as far as i know
I do have alot of old files still on it but some have been deleted
Some YT users do use numbers and symbols that look like the actual name to avoid detection...
yep i think im on my last legs:) the thing that gets me is that you would think they would get in touch with me first befor telling YT!! one word - wan&*rs
Be a shame to see your channel go, you have put alot of work into it and one of the best on YT:)

They were all there in the end but was a bad buzz when i tought they were all deleted:mad:
Might work on you tube like i said if you do somthing like this.....
lets say you were uploading.....Sourmash - Pilgrimage to paradise for example..if you typed it in So.urma.sh * Pillg.rimage 2 par.ad.ice & it may not appear on a search if thats how they are locating copyright material.........

Thanks for the link to no-ip Derra i'll give it a go when i have a bit of time to look at it properly.;)

That the same bloke alright......micko used to come in every week to both OLYMPIC & ASYLUM......we must have at least been in the vacinity of each other back then at some stage & maybe were introduced & just to mad out of it to recall:pac:.......used to get a great buzz of that:rolleyes: tune REZ when it was being banged out in the OLYMPIC & then when we were heading into the ASYLUM 1993 - 1994 with this track being banged out weekly & i can remember specifically it lifting the entire place regularly at 6 - 7am.......
UNDERWORLD - COWGIRL
Underworld-Cowgirl.mp3
And had no idea at the time they were the A & B side of the same record.
Another track from UNDERWORLD despite being very commercialised from Trainspotting was played a few times at Raves at the Hellfire in the dublin mountains & went down a treat.......
UNDERWORLD - BORN SLIPPY
Underworld - Born Slippy.mp3

I can remember gettin to know Micko from his early adventures into the Ballroom. He used to knock around the raves with, I think his name is Steno or Stephen Bensen maybe, he used to always wear a baseball cap (we all did) turned up. Anyway sound blokes. Micko still up in Killinarden?

PS: Underworld are class;)
That Born Slippy is like going to a Pogues concert, when played it seems to bring out the madness in people, brilliant track which barely survived being destroyed by crapy radio stations!

!

You would be bang on there about both names....Steno is what i call him still to this day & Micko used to call him Bensen back then......was living with Steno up until only recently for a couple of years......have a few videos of mental nights in that gaff of some seriously hard partying/drinking etc.;) into next mornings & Days.....wouldnt be fit to put up here as i would be fuc.ked off straight away for the content:pac:......all the ASYLUM tapes i got years ago were thruogh a couple of blokes Steno knew....one guy was Darren Fortune & the other was Tony Dunne....they had some seriously good tapes, had a good bit of whats on here but not all.......
http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=52527255&postcount=980

One tape was around years ago & only one guy i know that still has it is Steo O'Brien.....25 punts for 1 might be able to get this one off him & do a job uploading it here.....its Parsley & Thyme live @ the ASYLUM with an MC on it & this track is on it to help ID the exact tape.....
Coloured vision Violet rain.mp3
I havnt come across it out there yet but if anyone has it would be really appreciated.....was definetly one of the best live ones from the ASYLUM to my memory:D

Dont know if it would work lads but like i said if Youtube or the artists in question are tracking down the offending tracks by searching for the titles you could try & disguise them like this......

Sourm@sh P!lgr!m@ge 2 P@r@d!ce

Replace A's with an symbol & i's with ! symbol & you might slip through the net & be left alone:confused:

If it works you would at least be able to preserve your content from deletion:)

Good morning,

does anyone remember a track called Doop? It was in the charts (Top of the pops) in '93 or '94. It was a dance version of Charleston style music.

Anyway, it was pure cheese but someone had the balls to play it in the Olympic one night and it went down a bomb. When it came on I remember looking around at all the lads, you could see the  expression on everyones faces, saying "thats the **** on the radio" but then everyones faces went to :D and we got a great buzz.

Only ever heard it the once in there and rightly so, you'd only get away with that once;)

Cheers,
Mick

I think we all need to keep the YouTube spirit alive and just keep posting these tracks up, even when they get taken down. It'd be such a shame to see all those oldskool vids disappear as it's a great resource for collectors and a great way to keep them in people's memories. It's not like you can go on iTunes and buy them, or walk into HMV... these are tracks that apart from a handful of collectors have almost become extinct.

If we can't use YouTube anymore then surely there must be another way of keeping these tracks in the public domain?

• Closed Accounts Posts: 61 ✭✭gwood1234

Yep, I remember that one.. not exactly fondly though! I suppose in a way it was the dance music equivalent of Basshunter at the time... There's always one trying to spoil it for everyone else isn't there! Saying that though I did used to have a soft spot for Jive Bunny when I was a kid, although because they went on to become the Tidy Boys they kind of got away with it!

Unfortunatley mick i remember it being played more than once in there:mad:
Certainley never deserved the time on the decks at a RAVE cause i remember at the time my sister digged it & she was just into nightclub handbag crap like Whigfield & the likes.......whoever the DJ was must come across the record every now & again & cringe if he hasnt already burned it on the fire:mad:

Theres loads of video sharing site out there that can be used but i doubt they will ever have the broad scope that YT has worldwide.

Tut,tut,tut:(
I thought it was only the once and just for the craic. This has now changed a funny moment in time to a bad memory:mad:

as I said, more than once would not be justified...ahwell

I dont remember that one Mick, sounds ropy. The one cheesey song that stands out in my mind was 'I got the key'. This was when the Ballroom was on its last legs:( I remember me and my mate went in one night for the first time in ages, you know when you went on the traditional one month detox program as in beer and smoke for 6 nights a week but skip raving.
The place was half empty and 'I got the key' was belting out. I swore I'd never go back again and waste a night in there when The Asylum was still in full flight only down the road.
Well I never did go back (not including the re-opening years later).
However I remember going into the Asylum one night, there was a good gang of us and it was the girls from Kilnamangh 2nd time for the Asylum that particular night too who were usually Sides regulars, were with us on the 77bus (I could write a book on that bus alone). This was the night we all got our official Asylum I.D.'s
The bus stopped at the Kevin Street bus stop which was the Tallaght stop for the Olympic and the about 20 people got off at that stop for the Olympic.
The girls were never in the Olympic either and after seeing that ammount of people get off at that stop there was a big debat, Olympic or Asylum, the Asylum won but I always regret not going in that night for one las hurah:mad:
Even if it was cheesy you would be guarented some cracking tunes that you would never hear in the Asylum such as one of my favorite Olympic classics here:

Used to jump on the 15A outside Stenos gaff going into the OLYMPIC or ASYLUM & was an added buzz of anticipation passing by the OLYMPIC going to the ASYLUM where you were free to do what you want.......when we had finally blanked the OLYMPIC the 15A used to go down campden street passed pleasants street & we would see queues outside the OLYMPIC & be thinkin in my head 'lads lads lads if you only ventured on into the ASYLUM you would never go back again....the ASYLUM is the essence of what your looking for'.......:pac::p:):D

I know what you mean. I can remember walking by the Olympic at about 12 on the way down to the Asylum and looking in calling out a few heads I knew saying come on down to the Asylum, this place has gone to the dogs.
Another night I managed to shoe horn about 4 regulars out of the Ballroom down to the Asylum.
Half of them liked it and one bloke just sat against a pillar on the second floor for the whole night saying he hated the place, could'nt get him downstairs:eek:
Needless to say I wasn't going to babysit him while Pressure was dishing out rich creamy bowls of classics under sad act at the pillar especially with tracks like this one:D

Colour Vision - Violet Rain (Storm Mix)

Oh yeah and this one was a great track which went down a treat equally in both the Olympic and The Asylum.

Would you beleive Micko we were only talkin about was at the beginning one of the Anti ASYLUM heads......i remember when the lights came on in the OLYMPIC a few times & meself Steno Greg would be seeing how many were going to head down to Jimmys (thanks for that reminder ages back about jimmys Seany) & then in to the ASYLUM & micko was at first saying 'Na its not the same'....after a few times though he was hooked;)

Poltergeist used to blow the place away by the way along side Narcotic influence etc......these were mostly Saturday night tunes & a mate of mine from Orwell 'Elders' after a while convinced us the tunes on friday night were much harder/Darker so we then started going in on Fridays & Saturdays.....both nights were excellent but there was a differenece in the tunes from what i can remember:D

Micko would be correct there two completley different clubs / atmosphere. But towards the end of the Olympic that also was like two completley different clubs. When I started to go there was a mature crowd who loved their music at the end it seemed like a skanger crowd who loved their drugs.
Down in the Asylum it was a 'mature' crowd who loved their drugs:D
