First Piano for daughter

    My Daughter is 10 years old this week. She is starting piano lesson this week. I don't know the first thing about pianos and am looking for some help. I don't think its a fad as shes been asking for some time now about getting lessons and we had to wait a few months for a place in the classes. Anyway I don't want to spend thousands just in case its a fad but i don't want to buy something that won't help her progress.
    Is there any advise you can give me about, how much do i need to spend to get something decent, what make is the best and what shop to go to? Thanks in Advance for your help

    Hi der.
    I got mine in Precision pianos (now in Dundalk) and I have recommended them to a good few people who have gone on and bought there. I had shopped around and did LOTS of research into pianos before buying mine as I was workin with a budget!!! I found them great to deal with.

    Your just right not spending thousands on a fancy piano incase your child loses interest. Then you'd be left with an expensive piece of furniture!!! :eek: I think once a piano is in tune and all the keys work thats all a beginner needs.
