    Thanks for that. I'll check it out. It's just that there was a thread in the "Jazz and Blues" section recently saying it was either going or gone. Good to know it's still going.

    yeh i usualy listen to it on the way into town but i havent done that in a while. pretty good stuff. probly my favourite genre despite my huge lack of knowlage about it

    It's my favourite music. I have 100's of cd's on jazz alone. :cool:

    If you look around the 2nd hand stores ( if you are into cd's that is ) you can get good jazz cd's for as little as 7 euros.

    Jazz is a VERY big and varied music. If you are not too familiar with jazz, than some good albums to start with would be :

    Miles Davis : Kind of Blue ( a "must have" in any jazz collection )

    Weather Report : Heavy Weather ( a completely different type of "jazz" i.e. more modern and electric )

    John Coltrane : A Love Supreme ( another "must have" )


    I'm sure if you post in the "Jazz & Blues" section asking this question, you'll get lots of other recommendations.

    He was very influential. Most modern day sax players borrow a lot from him.

    Another name to look for that comes to mind is the late great Michael Brecker.
