minimum size of en suite

hi, was wondering there what the minimum reccommended size and layout of en suite would be? just for a sink, toilet and small shower. thanks!!

Down to personal taste really but your average would be (assuming its rectangular) around 2400mm x 1100m

In my experience theres generally two types...

the long rectangular one and the boxy square one..

as muffler says, 2.4 x 1.1 would be on the small side for a rectangular one
1.7 x 1.7 would be as small as i would go for a square one....

it isn't unusual to have the long narrow one only 800 wide, (width of shower tray) however , if you can afford to go to 1100mm in width do, as the narrower width is very awkward from a user point of view

1.7 x 1.7 is probably as small as you want to go, depends on the size of your shower tray or if a shower is necessary or not. I dont see the point in a shower in an en-suite if you have one on the first floor anyway. I currently live in a 3 bed house that has 3 toilets, 2 showers and a bath and only one room is en-suite. Its a pure waste of time and space.
I think its a "keeping up with the jones's" aspect of house building that should be cut down on.

hi guys, thanks so much this is exactly the info i needed! the en-suite in this case will definitely be used, there's only one shower room (no bath) in the house apart from this proposed small en-suite. its a small house in keeping with the area as i am very anti keeping up with the jones's and McMansions etc so i agree with you there Slig!! I was looking at the long narrow option alright so will see how that fits in. thanks for the info, really handy.
