    i have a deluxe strat hss and i want to change it to 3 sigle coils,i have a new pickguard and a friend is giving me a bridge position kinman pickup.is there much involved in rewiring it.the thing is in some position of the s1 switch only one of the coils of the humbucker is used,how is this going to work with a single coil.thanks.

    Hmmmmm.I'm not 100% certain (and i cant find a flippin' S1 wiring diagram anywhere!!) but this should work....

    The S1 switch is built into the volume pot. On the bottom of the pot there should be 2 extra terminals, connected to the humbucker. You need to desolder the wires connected to these 2 extra terminals (which are controlled by the S1 switch).Then change the pickups and pickguard, and wire your guitar up like this (ignoring the two extra terminals on the volume pot)...
