Laptop A/C adapter

    the cable on my adapter broke last night, Advent 7113. Do the universal adapters work with these types of laptops or would I have to look for an exact replacement.

    Never happened before, so will be looking in PC Worlds or Maplin later on. Anybody have any experience of this so far?

    Universal ones should work fine. Bring the laptop with you and ask can you check it before buying it. Most places will be grand with it unless it's in one of those impossible to open/reseal plastic blister pack thingeys.

    Thanks for the recommendation, managed to get a universal adapter in Maplin, expensive enough though. Still better than waiting for one to be delivered I suppose.

    They are a rip off alright. I bought one on ebay for a tenner:D
