Chief bridesmaid for an October wedding here!

Have finally managed to persuade the bride that it is time to start looking for her dress... Now looking for advice on how long appointments should be when booking them with places?? She wants to fit in Dublin, Cork and Wexford/Kilkenny/Carlow in three weekends so I don't want to be wasting time but also know we need to leave time enough in each place... Any advice??

If people can also recommend places that would be great!! Thanks!

Usually you just make an appointment, and its for a standard length of time - usually an hour.

Would recommend Aspirations in Dublin, if you like lace dresses, the owner knows her stuff.

Would also recommend deStaffords in Dublin, but on Saturdays, there's no appointments, you just take a ticket and wait your turn. They have lovely dresses!

    Both in city centre.

Marz66 is right - for the initial appointment, you are usually booked in for an hour.
Initially I had an hour appointment and when I was sure I had found the dress I wanted, I made another appointment to go back later that week to see only that dress (and purchase it! :D)

Most places will be running appointments back to back so they will be more conscious of time than you will be so it will all depend on how busy the shop is
