I was wondering has anyone made a mini desktop CNC machine?

It would be a cool project and quite usefull. Would be interested in using it for cutting PCBs, pick and placing electronic components and maybe carving wood/plastic...

You can get the chassis from ebay and run something like linux cnc http://www.linuxcnc.org/
