    Hi,

What bricks and mortar shops in city centre Dublin are selling the NC10?

I just tried PC World in the Jervis Centre but no joy :(

I might be but I will be only poping in for a short time and I won't know when. So that is a no go.

    Fair enough.
I guess you'll see me on Monday so, unless I find a shop in town that has one today.

    Cheers for the info.

Think Curry's and PC World are selling them nationwide.. have you a Curry's nearby?

Just got my my NC10 today, after ordering a month ago from TheHut (** shudder **)

Definitely advise sticking with Elara at their current price though - €369 vs between €399 - €429.

I was in PC World on Wednesday and saw an NC10 on display (picked up a neoprene case for the one I got for the g/f and a little bluetooth laptop mouse, dead handy) and they were advertising it for €479! there was an old lady looking at one and when i recommended it she said she'd seen good reviews online and was coming in to get one, so I pointed her to elara.ie to save €100. :D

    do I get commission? ;)

I went into Currys in Tallaght today and they were selling them for €430....

Prices seem to be shifting weekly on them.

My local PC World were selling it for €429 last week, but my local Currys (owned by the same company, and in the same retail park as the PC World) were selling it for €399. Bit odd!

Haven't really had a chance to play with mine yet.

Picked up my white NC10 along with a neopreen sleeve and 2gig o' memory. I haven't had much time to mess about with it yet but first impressions are very good indeed. Very well built machine. Looking forward in trying out some skype/msn web chats with my bro.

Two problems with mine. The bottom centimetre, or so, of the touchpad doesn't function correctly. The cursor moves at about a quarter of the speed in that area. I tried the 'two finger scroll' app mentioned earlier in the thread but that activates 'text zoom' as it scrolls.

The NC10 also keeps disconnecting/getting disconnected from my router when connected to it wirelessly. It will connect for between 5 and 15 minutes at a time, then it lose its connection and will be unable to connect for an arbitrary amount of time. I have 4 devices that regularly connect to the internet through the router; so I assume the problem is with the netbook.

If anyone could suggest something that might be wrong I'd be grateful for any advice. :)

Btw: I've tried being close to the router; still loses the connection. It does works without issue when hard-wired to the router. I use static ip addresses on the network.

Have you tried updating the wireless driver?

No probs with my wireless connection. Have my NC10 running for about 10 hours on the trot with no connectivity issues.

    Go to Control Panel-Mouse-Device Settings-Settings.
In Virtual Scrolling disable vertical & chiralMotion scrolling.
In Pointer Motion, disable Pinch (this is causing the zoom to happen)

In 2FingerScroll program, tick "Start with Windows", change Speed to 2 and disable Acceleration & change "One + one finger" to middle button.

Postman delivered a new Intel 5300 card this morning so couldn't wait to install it.
As you can see the results are pretty good :)

    wireless_connectivity.jpg

Had to change one setting in the driver properties from 20hz only to auto, was connecting at 160Mbps prior to doing that.

Definitely would recommend this upgrade, very easy to do, only took about 20 minutes all in all.

    Nice one!
Glad other people are doing a little modding on their NC10s too!

Something to keep in mind- if you have multiple wireless devices in the house and are wondering why your upgrade isn't delivering as promised- the router will always revert to the lowest common denominator- so if you have a b class device- you get b speeds...... (damn you nabaztag!!!!)

So what you're saying is, if I have a wireless n router and a few devices with wireless n built in and I connect a wireless g device to the router then all the other devices will only connect at wireless g?

Also, another question, why on earth did you buy a nabaztag?
