Unreal caller to my door

Right at 5.30 this evening , answered the door to find a nice elderly woman doing market research (nothing strange about that,)
The research was for a major cigarette company (bit weird )
I take part and answer a few pages of questions etc and at the end I'm handed 40 CIGARETTES (:eek: now is it me or it that weird .)

A major cigarette company going door to door given out free fags , ASH will spontaneously combust.

She's coming back in a few days to see how I got on.
And I am ask to follow the following instructions (word for word from leaflet )

# Please smoke all of the cigarettes yourself without offering them to others, as we are interested in your opinion only.

# Please do not smoke any other cigarettes until these are finished .

# Please keep empty packs until I return.

# Please try to smoke all of the cigarettes.

Not a joke , I'm a smoker so not going to tell her to F**k off , In fact I may even give her a cuppa when she returns and see if I can get more freebies

Get somebody else to answer the door when she comes back. They can tell them that you died of smoke inhalation after getting through two packets of weird fags. :eek:

I smoke Marlboro Lights. Benson and Hedges is a brand of cigarette. Someone gave you some free insert the brand here.

Pretty damn certain there's no rules against simply naming a brand.

Are you sure she did not hand you a bit of paper saying 'I am a deaf, dumb and blind. Please buy these cigs for 20euro to help support me and my 20 kids and dogs. Thank you'

Did not read/see them until after she left , Just taught it was a piece of paper with her name and No. on it

Yes, a marketer for a tobacco company in Ireland I knew had a house full of cartons of ciggerettes simply to give away for free to get people to smoke that brand.
