Parish Priest

Hi guys

A friend of mine is not sure of the best way to start the ball rolling in regards getting in contact with a priest and what not.
she is from china and has been working in ireland for around 9 years since leaving university here. Herself and her boyfriend ( also chinese) are hoping to get married here. They both live and work on the southside of dublin.
Im not sure which direction to point them they are both catholic.

Any help much appriciated . Is there any local priest they can speak with for advise ? Dun laoghaire Killiney area??

Where do they go to Mass? That might be the starting point. Or is there a specific church they want to get married in?

Even if they want to get married in a different church, they'll still need to talk to their PP to get the letter of freedom thingy done. I'd say that should be their first port of call.

I know I answered something similar to this recently. I covered a wedding with an Irish groom and Colombian bride, they decided on Glendalough and got a missionary priest to preform the service as he spoke irish and spanish.

I drove the priest home afterwards, he was lovely, his name has left me at the minute, but he was originally from the Philipines. He may be able to help or may have someone within his centre that can help. Basically they could choose their location and request at the church that the priest allow another priest to perform the service so as they can have their own language included also.

The centre where the priest lived was just up from Baggot street. If you came from canal through Baggot Street where Baggot Street ends and another street begins it is in one of the big old houses just on the right.

His name may have been Albert, something with an A. Lovely guy.
