Problem with itunes/ipod music

    Hello all
I have been using itunes and my ipod without any problems for the last few years.
I bought a song on itunes store, so i paid my 99cent. I tried to move this song to my ipod however i can't see it anywhere there where i look for it. Yet when i plug my ipod into my laptop and review my ipods music on my itunes, i can clearly see the tune there. The song i bought is in m4a format and has the special itunes protection on it.
Is the m4a format causing some trouble here because i would have thought that if you spent the bobs purchasing the song in the first place then you would automatically be able to move the tune to your ipod without any hassle!?

    Thanks everyone

    DG

Is it visible in the recently added playlist?

Yes it is, or rather was, visible in the Recently Added section alright.
It's just escaping me how it's not making the transition to ipod...

Right click on the song in iTunes and select the option to get info about the song, check to see if it's set as being part of a compilation. Might just be betting squirreled off somewhere you are not expecting on the iPod.

Or add the song onto a newly created playlist all on it's own, then sync that playlist with your iPod and then go look at the playlist on your iPod and see if the song is there (rather than searching everywhere at random). If it's not in the playlist, something's definitely gone wrong (the m4a format wouldn't be an issue in itself) and at that point I'd go to Apple's support site and email the customer care for iTunes store.
