laptop for beginner?

    My brother knows nothing about computers but is taking a computer course at work. It's a basic course dealing with Word and Excel.

    The thing is he'd like a laptop to practice on when away from the course. Can anyone suggest where to get a very basic laptop that would suit his needs? Maybe something second hand? I'm basically looking for suggestions! Thanks in advance!
