Lads can ye advise me on good locations for a road trip? Im in Waterford and myself and my best man are looking to head off for a couple of days before I get rudely hauled away from bachelorhood.

Im thinking of something along the idea of Doolin, or West Cork?

Do you know of a little gem of a place that would suit the plan??

I'm thinkin of an old Irish pub somewhere, trad music, the black schtuff, good food etc.

    Any ideas?

Yep.. Im seriously thinking of heading up to the best little spot in the world.. Burkes of Clonbur!

Its a road trip but a hell of a long one. Thats my first option really, but just checking if someone has a better spot to share.

Taking a road trip from Waterford to West Cork is like going for an afternoon stroll.:D

Donegal is where it's at and from Waterford, it's about as good a road trip as you can get in this country. Go to Inishowen and Culdaff and Moville in particular.

That would be my suggestion, head up there and find a decent pub, do a bit of fishing, or even head over and visit the Bushmills distillery.

Donegal or Sligo. Both are far enough away that you've felt you've gone somewhere. The fastest way to drive is through dublin if you go up through the centre of the country it takes half an hour extra and is a harder drive.
