    Hi all,

I have a competenct based interview coming up for a financial institution, I will be questioned on the following: Customer Focus, Sales, Integrity, Interpersonal Style, Teamwork, Resilience, Change Orientation, Organising and Planning.

Has anyone done an interview like this before? any hints or tips?? I have been scouring the net for the last few days but there is so much info, I am finding it hard to process everything . Any help would be appreciated :D

I got something from someone once, around criteria based interviews. I think it may help but I don't want to post it publicly so will PM you.

Let me know if it's of any use.

Don't worry-they're not too bad. Just think of one or two stories you can tell under each heading for a time you showed good skills in that area. Might be asked questions about how you dealt with challenging situations in areas, how you showed initiative, dealt with team members etc etc. They never really seem to stray into anything too abstract

I did a course on Competency based interviewing. What the interviewer is looking for is strong examples of when you have displayed the competencies that is required for the role. One tip would be when you give your example always link it back to the job you are applying for.

Yea they are really not that bad. Just have a couple of really good examples for each competency and be prepared to talk for a few minutes on each. One interviewer really looked for details. Good luck
