Failing A Subject

    I'm posting this for somebody else... I'm not a DCU student so i'm not exactly familiar with the ins and outs of exams there.

    A mate of mine took 1st year GCB this year, passed all except Maths. he's been trying to get in touch with his course coordinator and since he's in work full time that's not easily done. What's the likely outcome for him here? Repeating Maths next year or the entire course? And which fees would apply for this? The full €6000 or something smaller?

    He can repeat just that module next year, either internally (attend all lectures/tutorials and sit whatever exams are held during the semester) or externally (study himself at home and turn up for the exam at xmas or summer)

    It'll cost something like €300 I think.

    Hmm, not bad. The 6000 seemed a little steep for just failing one subject.

    Yeha that's the fee for people who arent eligable for free fee's, and that's the fee for a full year anyway so even if he's not free fee's it'll only be a couple hundred euro at most.
