Elder Brothers (+Under Brothers) I call a convention (making a Wimmins a Brother)

Assembled Brothers, and Under-Brothers, and Brothers "With Potential",

I put to you, on this very night, a Brotherette did carry out her duties to the full, indeed she surpassed said duties and did bring various cooked chicken pieces to an organised beer drinking event, in those endeavours she did indeed meet the hungarily needments of those so gathered, and supplied nutriements to the full.

I further put to you that said cooked poultry did indeed fill a much needed hole at such a time as it was much appreciated, and the appearance of the chicken, Southern Fried indeed it was, was a welcome interlude to the night's procedings.

I did myself witness many persons, none less than the Brothers, Under-Brothers and Brothers "With Potential", consume said chicken, Souhtern Fried as it was, and there were many people so present who commented that they wished they had partook of such feeding, but had missed the opportunity due to the appetite of those who had dined previously.

Said Brotherette did then leave with such promptitude that I myself did not even have the opportunity to thank her in the proper manner, although I did apart to her gratefulness as befitting such an act.

I, therefore, put to you, that such an act befitting of a Brother, being carried out by a Brotherette, should admit said Brotherette to the long standing Brotherhood of Elder Brothers, Brothers, Under-Brothers, and Brothers "With Potential".

I do affirm that such suppliage of Chicken, Southern Fried and Burgerfied, at such a time as it was crucial to the ravenous hunger of the massed Beer Guts and Receding Hairline followhood, should not only go down in the annals of said organisation, but should also impart the exhalted status of "Brother" on said supplier of nourishment.

I do declare, that for her unimpeded dedication to the cause of the BGRH Brotherhood, as impressively demonstrated this eventide, and her unstoppable sanctification of the Brotherhood, that said Brotherette be declared a "Brother".

I recognise that it may go against the very essence of being a Brother that I should mention this, but I do believe that duties have been not only met, but surpassed.

Said Brotherette is irishbird. She brought cooked, Southern Fried Chicken to us.

Do I have a "Yay" to the proposal?

    She be a "BROTHER"?

    There was chicken

Apparently so, but I only heard about it at the end of the night. The fact that there was chicken and two of the elder brethren were unaware of it and as such were unable to avail of this wonderful bounty leads me to the inevitable conclusion that the brotherette in question, rather than going above and beyond the call of duty, actually neglected her duties.

There was chicken and it was good.

Brother Des wants Brotherette Irishbird to be a Brother?
Unless I missed a chapter, has Brother Des caught the ghey?

The chicken was amazing, and it did indeed fill a much needed gap. As a brother with good potential I fully endorse this suggestion.

However, I think it may be offensive to label her a 'brother' since, she is indeed a female. Could a new title be made especially for the legend in question?

    Is one need ?

    /scratches head.

Do we not have the titles of 'wimmins' 'brotherette' and 'Des' gf' already ?

There is a very good reason why this can't happen.

If IB was to be granted brother status, she wouldn't supply any chicken in the future because as a brother, she would be too lazy.

Yet again, Brother Will, you display a knowledge beyond your youthful, slim, though potentially huge, beer gut.

I agree will Brother Will on this one. Such is the epicness of the event, that Irishbird is worthy of a title all to herself.

Good reasoning there, Brother smashey. I whole-heartedly agree.

And so we turn our attention to Irishbird. Never, in the history of BGRH, has such an event had such a profound effect on so many people. Just when the 11:00pm munchies were hitting us, like the cavalry arising from a distant hill, there appeared Irishbird, clutching her chicken. Not only did she bring chicken burgers, but, as Brother Des has so eloquently outlined in the post above, she brought Southern Fried Chicken.

    *pauses briefly to gather composure*

Irishbird has taken the status quo, sealed it into an airtight container, smothered it in bubblewrap and horsed it out the window.

She has raised the bar for all the wimmins in BGRH. Singlehandedly, she has shown what a true Brotherette can do, how a true Brotherette can turn a room full of drunken, dancing buffoons into a pack of wild hyenas, devouring their prey with Neanderthal savagery.

It was a beautiful moment, a moment that will not be forgotten (even if there weren't any beef burgers). It is an even that will go down in the annals of BGRH history, mark my words.

The chicken last night was southern fried chicken, greasy chickeny goodness. Not only was there southern fried chicken, but there were also chicken burgers. For all that is good, greasy and gorgeous in the world, never ever EVER say southern friend chicken is not drunk food.

Revoke that slanderous statement AND apologize to the forum... or face my wrath!!

I have a photo of Trout DEVOURING a burger. Highly amusing.

I also have a photo of Des's nekkid upper half which, in conjunction to this thread & Hagar's post, could contribute to the acceptance of his new found gheyness.

    :p:p:p:p

We're talking about chicken, not burgers. Even with that tiny bit of bread crumbs they're still not good DRUNK food.

A chicken pizza? Yeah. A chicken fillet roll? **** yeah. Just chicken with a few crumbs? Fry it all ya like it's still not good drinkin' food.

Throw it on something bread like and it's grand. But on it's on it's bollocks when you're drunk.

    Right, back on topic.

We are discussing the honour to bestow upon Irishbird. Not the merits of the food she brought to the beers.

i did not partake in chicken.in fact i wasnt even there.

id agree with bestowing her with and "Honorary Brotherhood"

True... however, I feel he is trying to take away from IB's achievements by implying chicken is not drunk food :(

Smite him... smite him good Tom!!!

Could we promote IB to head chef or something? The title needs to be slightly more regal though

i have lurked here. i have sat at the end of the bar minding my own. i have not found need to be vocal, the regulars keeping the status altogether quo-ish.......
however tradition is tradition, and they do say all thats needed for evil to flourish is for good men to do nothing.
a wimmins/brotherette/shirt-ironer can never be granted brotherhood. never. the repercussions, the implications.....the floodgates would be open, jammed open.
grant her honorary balls, even an honorary adams apple. but remember where you are and close the door on your way out

As much as IB did infact raise the bar uber high for the rest of us wimmins.... calling her a 'brother' as has been pointed out - would make her unable to perform such tasks in future, as a brother would be too lazy, duties fall to the wimmins.

Would it not be better to promote her to a higher brotherette status? I was going to say 'elder brotherette' but that might not be overly flattering. Another status I think should be suggested - because she is afterall a brotherette and not a brother.

I will say fair dues to you IB - you made the brothers VERY happy with your provision of foodstuffs. The fact you came in after a long day at work to provide food, stayed briefly to make sure all brothers were good, and then left is just fab. I do believe I high fived Des at this. Hats off m'dear :)
