Calling an Irish mobile in USA from Ireland?

Hi,

My brother is over in the USA for a few weeks and he can call home from his meteor mobile fine but I can't call him? I know the US calling code is 001 but I still can't seem to get it to call. Does anyone have any ideas?

Call him as you would if he was in Ireland.

Thanks!!! I feel like such an idiot, I spent about half an hour putting in stupid codes and prefix's and I never once tried it normally! And I do computer science!!!

Well in 2023, a person can simply use a free calling app like slickcall which allows you to call Ireland from USA without any Cost.
