For moi, I have to say Murray's Bar & Grill on Upper O'Connell Street.

Service ridiculous (waiting over hour, waitress really rude and didn't seem bothered about anything), food not great for me, but especially bad for my OH who ordered steak, cost €25, and it was mostly fat. He complaind about it, along with the snotty attitude of the waitress, and the manager there just couldn't have cared less. My b/f refused to pay €25 for his steak, and eventually they knocked a tenner off it for him (even though it was barely worth that either.)

    Won't be going back there!

A restaurant in Portarlington, It was unreal, the staff were rude and half-arsed, the food was cold, the wine was cheap, the place was dirty and they wanted €180 for it... I laughed, and walked out!

Went to a place in Ballyshannon on a Bank holiday Monday once, Don't remember the name. Anyway when we arrived it was fairly busy and we were greeted by a waitress who was only about 16 and seriously stressed. Problems began when the starters took about 45 minutes to arrive and it went downhill from there. Long story short it turned out everyone had rung in sick except this girl and she had been trying to prepare the food herself(Just from reading the menu descriptions!) and do waitressing at the same time. I laugh when I think about it know but at the time I was ridiculously hungover and in serious need of a feed.

In a hotel restaurant in Lisdoonvarna, I ordered a pasta salad. I got 7 pieces of pasta, covered in mayonnaise with a slice of orange beside them. No joke.

It's a Bord Failte recommended hotel with lots of foreign tour buses stopping there.

The place is like a cavern. Not warm and cosy at all. Not very intimate. Signs of hard use over the years etc etc..

The restuarant was in Asuncion, Paraguay. An awful lot of toilets in Latin American restaurants would make a pig puke but you have to get used to it, but this particular place was totally disgusting. If I wasn't in such dire need of a toilet I would have turned back. There was piss flowing out the door, someone had managed to take a dump on the floor beside the toilet bowl, more $hit plastered on the wall and cistern. And the stench was vomit inducing.

I never usually complain about these condidions in Latin America but this time I had to have a word with the owner. I told him he really had to clean that toilet and that it was disgusting. "It's nothing to worry about, my friend, nobody ever eats in there (the toilet)", he replied. He didn't appear to be joking either. We just went and left without eating our meals.

A chinese restaurant in Portumna. My husband got some chicken dish that had broken glass in it (not even kidding!). I had a chicken chow mein, and after eating about a third of it I noticed that the chicken was raw in the middle. I got food poisoning.

A certain hamburger joint on the corner of George Street and Dame.

I ordered a plain burger and got back something swimming in salad and mayo and grated cheese. I went stright back up to the counter and asked for my money back. Haven't been in since.

Can't remember the name of it but it's a restaurant in Lahinch - accross the road from Enzo's chipper just at the corner. One of these arty type places with buckwheat burgers on the menu.
Anyways I had pasta and the sauce was so watery that when some pasta fell off my fork and back into the plate it splashed back up at me. It didnt even have the consistency of soup. The waitress looked filthy as well. When I called her over to complain about it her fingernails were black and her hair was stuck together with grease.
    Just thinking about it.

    *Shudder*

Place in Barcelona last year, it was actually a room in a restaurant (pre-booked) for a hens weekend.. The salad I was served for starter looked like that had taken it from the end of the bin and arranged it on my plate, my friend ordered the chicken dish and she was served the leg and thigh portion of the bird.. I for one had never seen that before in a restaurant.. Not to mention the room itself was filthy, full of dust and the carpet was manky...

You haven't? There is so much more to chicken than just the fillet. Also, unless the menu stated fillet/breast of chicken, then what's the problem?

Really sorry for sounding like Captain Obvious here, but couldn't you have just scraped all that sh!t off? Not going back is a little harsh......

A certain 'brasserie' on Georges Street (ahem).

Was there for my 30th about six months ago. Food generally good but my friend got the mussels and gave me half. The two of us went down with really sudden projectile vomiting about a day and a half later. Were really ill for 3 days. I've been ill a lot in my time but that was unreal.

Luckily my friend's sister is an Environmental health officer :D

The burgers can be quiet good in that place.

I'd say fussy eaters are a pain in the hole for the people who work in these places.

A works christmas party in a very posh dublin hotel.

the pate starter was served with no bread, they were told the bread would come with the soup course and they would have eat it as it was!!!!!

the veggie soup had lumps of chicken floating in it.

the veggie main course has some lumpy porridge type thing with walnuts and grapes!!!

After waiting until everyone was finished their main course, i demanded to see the manager and find out where my veggie main was, i promptly handed it back to him and told him i wouldnt feed it my dog, i was given raw carrots, broccoli and pototoes instead.

dessert time - nope, they had ran out of all desserts.

to had insult to injury, i had to pay €70.00 for it.

plus had the office got food poisioning.

the staff were rude and aggressive. they refused to take wine orders or bring jugs of water to the tables and trying to get fresh cutlery, after the staff had cleared them away resulted in people having to go in to the kitchen to get them, as the staff were apparently too busy!!!

i would never recommend that hotel to anyone again

I thought you couldn't see the burger for the foliage itself? :D

Anyway on topic: Went to that La Pizza with better half a while ago. I'm not proud we were hungry. Got our menus and waited about 30 minutes for our starters. Even though I noticed that people that came in AFTER us were getting served first. Just walked up to the till paid for our drinks and left.
