A group of us are going to a function in Hotel Minella but its booked out. Is the Park Hotel, Poppy Fields far away? Walking Distance? Is there many Taxis around?

    Thanks

Park Hotel, Poppy Fields is probably as far away from the Hotel Minella that you can possible get I'm afraid. It's on the other end of town, Cahir road.

You'll have to wait for someone who still lives there but from what I can remember if you don't have a taxi booked on a Fri/Sat night then you could be in for a long wait. As long as you have one booked though there shouldn't be any problem.

Fennessy's Hotel and Hearns Hotel are both in town and so a lot closer but as the Minella is a bit out of town (1 mile?) if you're getting a taxi it doesn't really matter where your hotel is.

Raheen House is a 4* guesthouse probably within walking distance of the Minella (.5 mile).

Raheen house would be close enough but you wouldn't have much hassle getting a taxi to the park if you pre book. Minella normally woudn't mind booking you a taxi if you asked on the day.

Raheen house is probably the only hotel within walking distance, Minella is a bit out of town, but you shouldn't have any problem booking a taxi if you wanted to stay in any of the other hotels. There's lots of B&Bs around Minella, or they have apartments that may be available?

Check out www.hillcrestguesthouse.ie its literally over the river from Minella, although I would not suggest you try and swim it. Very nice place.

Anne Cunningham, Knockainey, Coleville Road, Clonmel. Tel: 052 23148. This is a B&B in front of the front gates of the minella. If you don't book a taxi you'll have no problem getting one that night, the taxis will be pulling up and and out of the place so you'll pick one up easy enough, if you're only going to the Park Hotel they'll easily come back for you as its only a 5min trip.
