The Off-Thread Topic

OK, occasionally we like to talk about non-instrument related things. In order to keep the other threads clean, all off-topicness can go in here. If it gets going, I'll sticky this thread. The charter still applies to this thread apart from the off topic part. Personal abuse will not be allowed. All other Boards.ie rules apply.

    And....GO!

So if I talk about instruments in this thread, I'm off topic in the off-topic thread? :pac:

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,433 ✭✭✭Quattroste

So what level of abuse is allowed?

Surely it should be Off Topic Thread...... or was that a cleverly disguised play on the idea of this thread.

Ah, ya got me. I was distracted by my feet.

You can talk about whatever you like in here, including guitars. But no Homers!

    I dont get this....:confused::confused:

Surely all non-instrumental things are covered by every other forum on "boards" with the exception of "Playing ,Technique and Theory". ?? Why should people want to talk about non-instrumental things on the "Instruments" forum ?

I must be missing something here................ :o

Can we talk about guitars on the "Pets" forum :p

The instruments forum is a small community within itself. Plenty of guys know (or semi-know) each other, either just from posting, or from actual meet-ups, bandmates, buying/selling stuff etc.

So its good to have a thread where you can have a bit of random banter with each other, without spoiling the flow of other threads.

And, if other threads do go off-topic, the mods can just move the stuff here, its less heavy-handed than bans and warnings and all that malarky. Don't see the problem with it, if it works it works, if it doesnt, it'll sink to the bottom, no harm done :pac:

It's good to laugh here sometimes without getting a warning.
Sometimes people have a bit of a sense of humour and the dogs are sent in to maul you.

Hurrah, we can go crazy! :pac:

If only I actually had any other instruments. Wait... I meant to say interests, not instruments. Oh dear god.

Presumably for the instruments forum regulars to talk with other instruments forum regulars about things that aren't instruments. :D I hardly even visit most the rest of Boards.ie to be honest.
