Has anyone any experience in a Parisian wedding?

We are not that Religious a civil ceremony would be fine if possible and a reception with a group of 50 on one of those boats along the Seine?

    We are thinking Jan/Feb 09.

Hi, there are fairly strict residency criteria for marrying in France - I think you need to be legally resident for a month or more in the district where the marriage will take place. And the paperwork is horrific, including two obligatory (and fairly invasive) medical visits for both partners. If you're a foreigner, it's even worse. Do some serious research into what is involved before going down this route!

As for prices, pick up a French wedding magazine - all the venues advertised have their prices clearly marked; they are usually around €70 - €100 a head but this generally includes wine as well as the meal, I think. Everything else wedding-related is very good value in France though, award-winning photographers will cost about €500 for a fab album and dresses are much cheaper over here than at home.
