Can vodafone block some numbers from calling or texting?

    Hey, hope someone can help - i'm not very technical with these things.

    I'm a vodafone billpay customer

    Basically I want to stop recieving text messages from a specific number - however, I don't want to get this person in trouble as he is not harrassing me I just need to stop hearing from him?

    any suggestions?

    Symbian phones you can get applications which will filter SMS.

    Some phones allow you to block SMS from a certain person.

    Failing that your only choice really is to ignore them or change your number (neither ideal but that's that .. )

    I've heard of these handsets too, its in the message settings and it works just like a spam filter would on your email account. The messages you have selected will still be delivered to your phone, but you will not be alerted of it and they will be moved to a designated folder where you never need to look at them!

    I use blackballer but there are plenty of other options out there

    hey guys jus wonderin if anyone knows how to block there number wen sending atxt cos my friend got one the other day from UNKNOWN telling him what time he was being picked up from work the next day

    You can use online services to send free texts that don't (or do, depending on what you want) show as coming from your number. You can't block when sending from your phone using your network.

    Services like boltblue and voipbuster / smsdiscount etc allow this.

    Samsungs used to be able to block specific numbers from texting you. Dont know if they still do.
