Hi, im getting married August 09. im looking into wedding favours, i know alot of weddings in ireland dont have them and they are a waste of money i suppose, but i would really like them at our wedding. i know you can get chocolates from the different chocolate companys in litlle boxes, and mini candles with our names date etc printed on them. just wondering is there anything else? something cute, fun, different? do you give one to each person or one to every second person(that only works if they are all couples i think) ... any ideas or suggestions greatly appreciated!

try some of the english wedding mags they have some great ideas, loveheart sweets wrapped in gauze, mini cup cakes, minature champagne bottles full of bubbles. i once saw a small wedding where the bride collected freshwater pearl bracelets and wrapped them around the napkins. .they are going out of fashion really though, people are choosing to save their money for other aspects of the wedding.

Talk to your hotel, some hotels will do these free of charge depending on the date of your wedding, or they might be able to suggest someone nearby that has supplied previous weddings.

    Congatulations btw!!! :D

I got married 3 weeks ago. I had scratch cards. In Llantz I got the little card sleeves that you can put them in, they have a cute little poem on the outside, something to do with "grab a coin and scratch, from us the perfect match". Think they were 3.65euro for a pack of ten. I had 130 guests so think it was near enough to 50euro for the holders and then 130euro for single scratch cards for everybody, so all for less than 200 euro, I thought they were well worth it.

    Hi,

I looked at some American sites and some English and found what I thought was a good idea at www.wedoweddingfavours.co.uk. Initially I was going to give everyone something but found it hard to find something affordable for men. So, in the end I bought candles in the shape of long stemmed roses and will leave them on the dinner plates of all the ladies attending my wedding. They are cheaper in the U.S. but I left it very late to buy them so I went with the U.K. site.

Also found some personalised ones on ebay with a seller called 'lovelyfavours' if you're into candles.

    Hope this helps

try the above link, i am getting 250 chocolate heart shaped sweets, the netting and ribbon, all for just under €30 (its an extra €10 for postage or else like what i am doing you can collect them from their base in waterford), and thats enough for 50 people!
you can do it cheaply and nicely if you make them yourself. they also have the boxes that you can make up yourself.

    Hi

For our wedding favours (2 months and counting) we are supporting irish charities.

The first is the ISPCA in the form of keyrings with the all important magnetic euro thing for shopping carts and the second is the Irish Breast cancer society with the same thing .e.g. the key rings.

They will all be packed into boxes with bowes on them. So i think its a nice suprise whilst supporting charities.

    Good Luck

We're getting married for next week. For the most part we've been on a very tight budget and have done EVERYTHING by hand! For the favours, we bought white organza bags from ebay. We bought chocolage dragees from the acorn touch (www.theacorntouch.com) in the colour theme of our wedding (white and red). We put six of each sweet into the organza back along with a little note thanking the guest for sharing our special day with us. I think they look beautiful and will tie in nicely with the scheme without costing a fortune! Now hopefully they'll go down well :)

I got married a little while back and my wife put together boxes from confetti with different goodies in each one. They varied so as not to be the same with things like choco sweets, Love is sweets etc all bought in bulk from said place.

Best favours I have ever encountered was a wedding I shot a few weeks back at Ashford Castle. The girls all got specially designed Waterford Crystal pendants - very cool!!!

I think that is a fantastic idea and if I were a guest I would really appreciate the thought. The choice of charities was good too as so may people are affected by cancer, and almost everyone like animals! well done, I am really impressed! much better for your money to go to a charity than a chocolate shop!

    Have a wonderful day BTW!
