Who do you think are the coolest nation of people on Earth?

The French maybe- all Gallic self-assurance, cigarette smoking (cinematically cool?) and indifferent shrugs.
Or the Australians maybe- with their laid-back, humourous nature?
Others?

And the uncoolest?
Where would Ireland rank?

Obviously there's variation within nations.
But obviously an "average" coolness for a given sample/nation can be arrived at.

The Gross National Cool so to speak.

French are cool too, until you meet them and you realise they're mostly boring as fcuk.

I'd say Ireland would rank pretty highly, as would Brazil, Serbia, Scottish and Polish. I suppose it depends on your individual experiences with different nationalities!

Coolest? Irish are actually up there. We are very approachable compared to other nations. e.g. easy to get talking to in social environment.

Uncoolest? Israel. Their people are rude, unfriendly and selfish.

Do people really rate Dutch people as being that "cool" (I'm not even sure what the definition of it is anymore, sign of my age).

Having been there five or six times now outside of Amsterdam is quite a conservative place, it's a stark contrast to Amsterdam and has a distinct lack of cafes and hookers! I'm talking about Utrecht, Zwolle, Arnhem, Apeldoorn and smaller places like Kampen.

Have you been there? Im not disputing your opinion, the only thing I say is that one is more inclined to notice the dìckheads in any crowd. If I saw two people in a pub, one sipping a drink quietly, the other screaming his head at a barman no guessing which one id remember.

Haven't been there, which is why I would be reluctant to generalise about any country, but have met plenty of them over a long period of time. And I don't mean 5 or 6.

I understand there are dickheads in every group, but I tried so many times in Ireland, but mostly travelling, and only met one half decent Israeli out of scores.

No exaggeration.

Never thought I'd ever see the day where I would blanketly group such a large amount of people into one category. But they're extremely hard work.

America invented cool. Some nations like the French and the Japanese have tried to catch on but their approach is a bit geeky, too intellectual (although, that has a coolness of its own). The Irish are the anti-cool; we get embarassed too easily. Write it in your notebooks.
