how cheap is skype to irish mobiles?

im currently with utv.....

also is skype the cheapest or just the most famous?

Most famous, I doubt it's the cheapest.

Most VOIP providers aren't all that cheap for calling mobiles, unlike they are with landlines.

Would seriously doubt Skype is the cheapest. Haven't looked at this in a while but there are very little savings to be made by using VOIP to mobile - the moblie telcos take their termination fee pound of flesh.

If it was a number or a few numbers you were calling all the time then you could possibly get some deal from one of the regular phone companies - either landline or mobile.

Even for landline terminated calls Skype is relatively expensive and the call quality is often far less than spectacular. Check out VOIPstunt.com or voipbuster.com - you throw in a deposit and calls to landlines in Ireland and about about 40 other countries are free subject to a fair usage policy that I've never actually run into.
